Thank you so much for this list. I live in FL so rarely will I knit with wool. I did just purchase Drops Belle and also KFO Cotton Merino but haven't worked with them yet. Excited to see there are MANY more options for summer knitting. I will be keeping this list handy!

A heads up 🆙 on Knit Picks- shipping takes about 2-2 1/2 weeks to get to you. If I’m in a hurry I order from a different company. I do like their yarn though.

I've just finished an Audrey top in Lino Muka (by Wollen Berlin) held triple. It's the first linen yarn I worked up, but the fabric feels so smooth and has nice drape. It's an amazing yarn I can really recommend. I now started a garment in Lino by BC Garn and it is very much thick and thin, ranging from lace to fingering thickness. But it is quite cheap for 100% linen. Not as nice as Lino Muka in my opinion

Thank you so much for sharing and going through a lot of the summer yarns there’s a lot of those I haven’t tried. I am working with a 50 cotton 50 viscose from Yarn bee bamboo- tiful for a test

Glad you enjoyed! I also still have a lot of yarns to try from this list so excited to give them a go

That Antigone yarn is so absolutely stunning that I had to get some from La Mercerie in Seattle, WA. I'm planning to make the Barbroe Top in the Grenat colorway. I've never seen a summer yarn be such a deep, blue-based red before, and I'm so excited!! For summer yarns, I also love the Queensland Collection Coastal Cotton Fine, which is a sport-weight 100% Pima cotton yarn that is the softest cotton yarn I have ever felt. Last but not least, indie hand dyers in Canada and the US like Pasley Knits, Camellia Fiber Co, Cosy Posy Yarn Co, and Sunday Fiber Co all have great fingering and DK weight summer bases.

I did a text knit with Isager Trio 2 held single and am developing a bag pattern for Trio 1 held double and I would say I love the post blocked look to the yarn, holding them single sucks and holding them double is nicer. They are quite slippery with metal needles which is what I work with but the post blocked look keeps me motivated through it being a bit annoying. Also to note: they shrink length-wise and "bloom" a lot with blocking and aggravating through hitting (like in a rinse cycle) is recommended to really get them to bloom up nicely. But yes a good thing to definitely gauge swatch before casting on with these!!

Good advice! I’m noticing in general that summer yarns seem to bloom width wise but shrink length

Summer yarns are currently on my mind- thanks for this compilation. I'm using Isager trio 2 held double with a strand of fusion yarn (linen, silk, wool and alpaca) and I love the fabric it is creating. I was worried about how stiff the trio 2 felt in the skein but it is lovely to work with and doesn't feel stiff knitted up. I am looking forward to trying some of these other yarns I hadn't heard of.

I just bought Drops Belle but haven't used it yet. I think my next purchase will be knitting for Olive pure silk. I saved this episode for future reference. Thanks for sharing.

Since Antigone is quite pricey and hard to find here, I'm interested in trying Lana Gatto Fresh which looks quite similar and is also 100% linen. I'm interested to hear if anyone has tried these both and how do they compare :)
Combining two light summery threads interests me a lot right now.
I just knitted a tee with Holst Garn Coast held together with Isager trio 1 and I really like that combo.
Now I'm knitting with kfo pure silk held with super thin lace weight wool, that makes still summery fabric but the yarn is a bit thicker. I can't wait to wear it. 😊

Let me know if you end up trying the Antigone or Lana Gatto. Very curious how they work up.
Love the idea of holding the pure silk with another yarn!

Rosarios 4 Madragoa - 100% silk is by some claimed a perfect, and budget, substitute for KFO Pure Silk.

Just found your channel, really enjoy it 😊 as a newbie knitter with a couple of jumpers under her belt I am now dipping my toes into summer knits but have been rather overwhelmed with all the yarn choices so this video was very helpful.
We have just been to Portugal for a holiday where I picked up some Rosario yarn, mine is a cotton/acrylic blend so I am interested to see how it knits up.

I want to try Knitting for Olive Pure Silk held double. They have such a beautiful range of colors and neutrals. I am not sure what pattern I would choose but I think I would have fun deciding on one.

Possibilities are endless! The pure silk is perfect for so many patterns. I’ve never used it held double but I want to try it

Thank you! There are a few yarns from your list that I would love to try next summer. Unfortunately some are hard to come by here in Canada. One that I missed the boat on while The Knitting Loft still carried it is the Isager Hor Organic. And the new Gepard Garn Hor Silke also looks very interesting.

For Scottish knitters a summer yarn is such an anticlimax - wool all year round! We might have a knit or two required for summer items. Have fun with your summer 🌞🌞🌞🌞😅😅😅😅

Hello from NS 🇨🇦 . Thank you for this video, I’m very interested in nice yarn that’s a bit lighter than wool. Although most of my stash is 100%wool. I’ll be in Amsterdam in Nov hoping to get to S&P for a visit. Maybe I’ll find a nice lighter yarn there to bring home with me.
