I found one in my house upside down. I moved it outside on my deck and it was in the same spot half-hour later. I brought it back inside and put on my counter and turned around for a second and it was gone lol. I found it again when I came home hours later, on the other side of my house near my front door yet again upside down. Decided to make a little ecosystem for it in a container I had.
We used to have a lot of them here in Southern Indiana. I use to love playing with them and watching these Green Flying Jewels. We had several pear trees on our property that they seemed to love. Our Pear trees died and I never replaced them. I haven't seen a "June Bug" in years and it saddens me. Maybe I should plant some figs and hope there are still some around.
I hate these bug! They seem Attracted to me and find me no matter where I go outside. I’m terrified of them. I’ve had to get two out of my car. One just flew in my window of my car about 20 minutes ago. It kept chasing me. My mom had to bat it away with a water bottle and we rolled up our windows. What the hell makes them like me so much? Do they hibernate in the fall/winter?
What an easy man to listen to. Such a wonderful voice.
He’s content and confident
I agree 100%

They fly like its Friday night at 1am after last call. Love em.
I have one as a pet.. I saved him from dying and have kept him for a month now :3

I make compost with a chipper/shredder & the grubs really help out tremendously breaking it down into usable product for the garden.

Maybe you smell like ripened fruit
thank goodness, I’m not the only one who is horrified of these bugs
Lovely! One just landed on my head! Guess it knew I was kinda "fruity" - LOL
These are the true warlords of terror.
Facts
Yes
Supposedly they eat over ripened (not edible to us) figs and not the ones ready to eat by us.
How do you get rid of them??
When we don’t pick enough of our apples from the tree and they rot they get full of these beetles .
Same here. They love my 🍎 🌲. My kids like catching them.
I wonder, if their grubs are edible?
They help decomposing matter, no
Bruh.
