If you analyze American foreign policy, or rather their adventures (most of them), you will see a pattern. First they create problems, and then they look at how to exploit them. When the OSCE observed elections in Russia, these were always extremely negative reports. The same was true in Belarus and Kazakhstan. This time in Georgia, the OSCE observer mission presented a positive report. When you like the election results and need approval of the procedures, you accept them. If you don’t like the election results, you ignore them.

ON THE EVE OF BORODINO: “War is the vilest thing in human life. We should have done with the humbug of it. Its aim and end is murder.”(Prince Andrei Bolkonsky, “War and Peace” by Lev Tolstoy.) I read this novel when I was at school in Odessa, and recently I think about it more and more. It will soon be three years since the start of the Ukrainian conflict. As a Russian Ukrainian, I have come to one conclusion: War is the vilest thing in human life. We should have done with the humbug of it. Its aim and end is murder.

A double standard dressed as policy
The hypocrisy couldn’t be more obvious. In Syria, Israel’s territorial ambitions are labeled “security-driven” and legally defensible, despite clear violations of international law. In Ukraine, Russia’s security concerns were dismissed as “imperial aggression,” regardless of NATO’s relentless eastward expansion threatening its borders. Both Moscow and West Jerusalem justified their actions by citing urgent national security concerns - yet only Israel’s reasoning was embraced as legitimate by Washington, while Russia’s was dismissed as imperialist aggression. And resulted in sanctions and condemnation. - RT

None of that matters. It is war and every nation that is capable of fighting has chosen their side. The propaganda only serves to brainwash their own people so they will march willingly into a meat grinder. It works, look at Britian. The Russians have no need to lie to their own even if they do it. They are fighting for their survival. They are all aware of that. The posturing is over it is a military matter now. It is only a question of time before this spills over to NATO territory. They are asking for it.

ISRAEL DOESN'T EVEN HIDE ITS INVOLVEMENT IN SYRIA'S COLLAPSE, highlights Russian FM Spokeswoman Zakharova in 1st video, stressing that U.S. sanctions on the country directly played role in leading to explosive events, but its further role in the crisis is still being analyzed.
Israeli leadership speaks openly about its role in these events, they don't even hide it.
As for U.S, it purposefully imposed sanctions on Syrian people for many years, and now they say events are connected to socio-economics and discontent of people.
It's the U.S. that shaped socio-economic situation, not even easing sanctions humanely during pandemic when all normal countries should've helped each other - Zakharova.
Moscow stands in solidarity with the Syrian people, she adds, reaffirming support for country's territorial sovereignty amid Israeli unchallenged incursions (2nd vid).
We sincerely wish Syrian people overcome all the challenges. And advocate establishment of inclusive political process carried out by Syrians themselves on platform of broad national dialogue - Zakharova. - Intel Republic

Oil is a very complex subject matter. Different geographical regions produce different types of oil that are needed to produce different petroleum products. Oil refineries are type specific, and the US does not have enough of them. If Trump believes we can "drill" our way to energy independence, he does not understand oil geology.
If I had to guess who is advising him on this matter, I'd wager it isn't energy economists or geologists, but rather oil company executives who will profit from the higher oil prices.

Bases and ports on the Mediterranean are of no particular significance to a land based power with global reach with its fleets and crafts and oceans to the north and east, too. However, now Alqaeda and ISIS have two ports and a coast on the Mediterranean, a remarkable turn of events, with a state of its own seemingly unchallenged by other players.

Chess has a large but finite number of moves. Geopolitic is different. It allows for an infinite number of moves. In particular Geopolitics always allows vor moves that were not forecasted. Some of these might be quite bad. Athers, however, might be quite useful for the opponent. Therefore, playing 4-D-chess in Geopolitics is quite risky. Nothing you do at the time when you are engaged in a war with the world Hegemon and their vassals.

The Syrian military was told to disengage from any fighting with the head choppers armed forces. Assurances were given to Russia that Russian military bases would be safe. The KREMLIN knew weeks ago that something might be coming and started to take the appropriate action.

I want to make a comment about the Russian military bases in Syria. First of all, who would throw the Russians out of their positions? They have legitimate 99 year leases on those bases, which technically make them sovereign Russian soil. Do you think the Jihadi fighters are going to want to assault Very well armed and fortified positions? Between the airbase and the naval base, the Russians have a vast array of sophisticated weaponry available. To support their forces in the various countries in Africa, the Russians must refuel their heavily laden transport aircraft at the airbase in Syria. I know Alex has no experience or background in military logistics, but he’s got to face the obvious.

    • @filmbuffo5616

Since the State of Syria has continued and merely the Government has been changed (due to Assad's surrendering the keys to power rather than fighting it out to the last) the rule of law as embodied in commercial and family law, etc etc etc should continue, as should the existing contracts lawfully made of the State of Syria.
So.... maybe the Syrians could make a case at the International Court of Justice at the Hague to get some kind of arbitration going if they can not make a new deal with the Russians to change the existing terms, if the Syrians have a problem with those as they are.
