My cousin studied at st Anthony's and my childhood friend studied at OLPS and i was born and grew up in chembur as my uncle (father's brother) stayed in the nearby lane. And also my mom's sister lived in chembur. So it's an original home for me. The iconic jet plane at the diamond garden was my childhood go to place. Geeta bhavan, Saroj, and the ghasitaram restaurants and if course Jhama are all i remember. So basically my childhood has been 50% Matunga and 50% Chembur. Even the theatres where i have seen movies like Sahakar, Natraj Basant and Vijay theatres have been the places where i watched my first movies. It's a nostalgia when i visit chembur. Every Sunday was a must visit to Chembur and before the visit buying a milkwala Pepsi cola from Tashkent for everyone at my mom's sisters place was a ritual for me before stepping into their house. It's unforgettable for me. Dukes and RK ganpati was the icing on the cake which was a must visit for ganpati and Golu (steps full of dolls) at my dodamma's place was a must visit. I can't type more as there are pages to write about Chembur. Unforgettable memories.
