- On this episode of Tere Gully Mein, we are in Chembur to recreate our childhood memories with Shamita Shetty! We happened to walk down memory lane with her. From hearing about her school days right from the grounds of St Anthony’s to meandering through the bustling spots nestled in the bylanes of Chembur. From plates of pav bhaji, masala pav, and fruit milkshakes at Sadhguru to Gulaab Jamun from the famous Jhama.
We learned about how the OG Shetty sisters’ childhood was and lots more. This episode was quite nostalgic for both, our guest and for our host, Kamiya Jani! They both pretty much walked down memory lane and tasted their childhood.

Can we all take a moment and acknowledge both Shetty sisters have such humble beginnings but today somehow they are constantly judged for being privalaged specially shamita!! No doubt she has such a honest down to earth, never quite kinda personality! 🔥❤️

Shamita is very sweet and she has a touch of grace in her body language, speech. It proves they’ve been brought up really well. Except that what we saw in big boss and that’s because everyone has an angry side also. Otherwise, these sisters come from a healthy and loving environment.

My cousin studied at st Anthony's and my childhood friend studied at OLPS and i was born and grew up in chembur as my uncle (father's brother) stayed in the nearby lane. And also my mom's sister lived in chembur. So it's an original home for me. The iconic jet plane at the diamond garden was my childhood go to place. Geeta bhavan, Saroj, and the ghasitaram restaurants and if course Jhama are all i remember. So basically my childhood has been 50% Matunga and 50% Chembur. Even the theatres where i have seen movies like Sahakar, Natraj Basant and Vijay theatres have been the places where i watched my first movies. It's a nostalgia when i visit chembur. Every Sunday was a must visit to Chembur and before the visit buying a milkwala Pepsi cola from Tashkent for everyone at my mom's sisters place was a ritual for me before stepping into their house. It's unforgettable for me. Dukes and RK ganpati was the icing on the cake which was a must visit for ganpati and Golu (steps full of dolls) at my dodamma's place was a must visit. I can't type more as there are pages to write about Chembur. Unforgettable memories.

Apart from Shetty sisters... A very popular cricketer Suryakumar Yadav better known as SKY also comes from Chembur. Well it was a mind-blowing episode luvd watching Shamita & Kamiya together... Shamita still looks so young & beautiful... Being a fitness freak myself I too eat a lot of rice in my meal, though I am a North Indian but a complete Mumbaikar by heart... 👌
