I want my own Martin Freeman, a funny, sassy, and adorable man who just seems to keep getting more adorable too the older he gets. Amanda Abbington is a lucky woman.
This guy is probably my favorite actor at the moment haha. Well that's bit biased because im finally getting around to watch BBC Sherlock lately, finished 1 season, he was spectacular. Then I found out he was in Fargo, so I just started watching it and 6 hours later... I caught up lol. LOVE IT. And watching him do this interview, I like his personality as well.
I know EXACTLY what he means when he says that he's not used to that kind of cold. I grew up in California and moved to Alaska. Frozen eyelashes are extremely annoying, but not nearly as annoying as being stuck on a bus for over 40 minutes in -40 degree weather.
I have lived in Minneapolis or rural ND my whole life. Minneapolis all of my adult life. The accent and speech patterns in the movie and tv series seem really overdone to me. We say "fuck" just as much as everyone else does. We don't substitute "heck" for normal swear words. On the other hand, we kinda sorta sound like that. When I've been watching Fargo for a bit, I do find myself cringing when I realize that I say "Yaaahhh!"
Yeah, I've lived in the Twin Cities most of my life, and I definitely elongate my "O"s, not very extreme, but when I lived out East, people definitely noticed it. I think you only get that real extreme accent in rural areas and more from the older generation. It seems like even in out-state Minnesota, the younger people don't have as extreme of an accent. Also, I agree, we swear just as much as anywhere else.
People may be polite, like Canadians, up in Northern Minnesota. But here near the Metro people are just as rude and snobbish as they are in any big US city.
STILL WAITING for ANYONE who is asked what made you take this choice of character?...."THE MONEY....and of course the character being interesting helps"..........STILL WAITING.
"Guns are legal, Fuck isn't. What kind of world do we want to live in." - Oh Martin, you're brilliant!!!
I adore Martin's voice. That is all.
haha touche! Yeah well if I went on about everything I adored about Martin I'd run out of space :)

Just watched the first season of Fargo in 2021. Breathtaking.
We were 8 years late lol
"Can you give us a taste?"
"No."

The problem with accents is you never think you have one.
"not necessarily legal" LOL
an amazing interview! Martin you are the best!!
Ha! Lived in Northern Wisconsin for a few years and I've been saying all along that it's basically Southern Canada.
his voice is soooo smooth. very soft and calming. gets in your ear and down into your ...maybe i should stop haha ;)
HE WAS IN CALGARY!?!?!?! Just a few hundred miles from me and I didn't know. I feel different all of a sudden.
"Just a few hundred miles from me" - That's a very Canadian thing to say :-)
I went to a little diner about a hour north of Bismark ND and they totally spoke like in the '96 film.

Love this guy so much!
Martin is such a cool guy, I love him..
Very professional guy it seems.
As a Minnesotan, wtheck is “cheese and rice”
Brilliantly played Lester!
Funny how they have Kirsten Dunst (Peggy Blumquist) in the beginning of this video.
I find it weird when Martin talks in his English accent now, and I am English :)
he is hilarious in fargo
I was waiting for one of the interviewer's absurdly long false eyelashes to
disconnect and fly off
nice leather shirt

I want him for eternity
I bet a lot of people are watching this to hear him talk about guns @ 2:38
So different in real life.
I need to check out this program; the reviews have been fucking chnoss!
Minnesotan dialect comes from German, and Scandinavian.
Men adopt a sing-songy voice when they're talking to women they're attracted to.
Uh, women do exactly the same thing.
