I like how the hive symbols are the only set in the game with no widely accepted names and everyone has their own. Toads might be the worst ones yet seeing as how he doesnt even remember them
Of my callouts, my favorite is "circle table" (Toad's Scarab). Of course that is not to be confused with other callouts like circle, verticle table, horizontal table, or dot table
I like to keep mine simple. Vex head is universal, X is universal, I call the one with 3 dots elipses, the one that is like X with a dot is near X, I call the 5 horizontal lines dash or hyphen... Some people's callouts really make me think tho, like who looks at the Vex head and says "pizza" or "ice cream cone", that's just wack
And it would be great… I mean, most of the ennemies we went against became our allies. I hope for the last missions of the final shape is to team with every single enemies we encountered in order to take down the witness
Some exotic catalysts do improve a gun a lot, like the one for Acrius, gives it trench barrel which is a 50% damage increase on top of +40 to the reload speed.
After hours of trying to solo this as an arc hunter, I feel your pain, Ecthar alone took a long time and having to get lucky that Lament wouldn't glitch out, and I've gotten to the final boss twice, the first time was on a thirsday so BUNGIE kicked me because of server maintainance. The second I was stuck for hours, and after getting her down to the last phaze I would need, my healing decided to go to sleep and Vorlog slapped me. At which point I couldn't take the time to de-tilt because it would have kicked me to orbit. Needless to say, I now have a vendetta against whichever BUNGIE employee decided to add the line "without leaving the activity" to the triumph's section. I don't think it's fair that I only get rewarded for completing one of the hardest challenge in the game if I get lucky with BUNGIE's spagette code.
I couldn't agree more about it being an endurance test. I literally had to remind myself to take small breaks when I could during the final boss to get it done.
@@BlizzyBlake1185 Lament for ecthar is actually really good if you are using the chainsaw combos of it right. only takes 1 combo to break the shield entirely and then you just go ham from there
From what I have seen so far as a person that did do a solo flawless run of ghosts as a arc hunter I see how the other classes just get destroyed because of the amount of enemies, and in my opinion rockets are just slightly better in the final room and you can easily keep a better distance and never have that drop off so arbi and a rocket launcher is what got me through but I wish everyone luck for whoever tries the solo

My friend calls half of them crabs lol. There's crab, dotted crab, equals crab, down, equals, cannon, burger. it's hilarious when he makes his calls, they sound like fucked up maths equations. "Down equals dotted crab" "burger equals crab cannon" etc
I had an amazing time with this dungeon (I have thalassophobia) and I nearly cried when I saw the giant fish a bit before the boss actually this entire season has made me want to cry but I sold my soul to bungie soo yeah

Hey toad, just some tips after my solo flawless if you haven’t done it yet. On ecthar, if you shoot him with the tractor cannon right as dps starts (before you kill the knight that drops the pool) it’ll suppress him out of his super and stop him from doing anything annoying. While your killing ecthar, make sure that your killing other enemies around him to keep roaring flames going, and to spawn more sunspots for restoration. On simmumah, use briars contempt, acacias dejection, and arbalest. Once you pop her shield, hot swap to condition finality for the origin trait x2. Bonus points for having surrounded on your linear for a huge damage buff. I did this on an arc hunter, but knowing that you would never stoop that low, hammer titan will do just fine as long as you don’t miss your hammers (rip) and keep your sunspots up.
A tip for final encounter solo. Use riskrunner and swap to arby right before damage, then swap back. Just make sure you keep your kinetic spot special ammo and your energy slot primary. Edit: i should have finished the video before commenting.
Just found your videos and have been hella enjoying them. I mean this in the best possible way but the 'blueberry' energy you and when you are running with team mates, your squad bring to these activities while still giving it your all is fun to behold. Your humor and edits are quite enjoyable as well, will definitely be binging your channel over the next while for certain. (will say though, in reference to what I mean above, I mean 'has 90 resilience, is rocken double Font of Endurance for that + 50 resilience while armor charged, wasting that delightful 40 res verses just having more arc resist/void resist/concussive dampeners on.' The general low stat totals on things, not getting catalysts cause 'they take to long' when Suro-Chi is a place that exists and having a weapon do +50% more damage and have more bullets/Draw immensely faster and so on is kinda hella important for them to work. And yet forgoing all that and still getting pretty dang close through sheer determination. That's, generally what I mean XD 'titan mindset' also applies. And while I'm here, this is irrelevant to the current video, but I've seen a few of your 'lazer' challenge videos and figured I'd point out Coldheart is like THEE trace to use with just arc warlock in general and as a 'DPS trace rifle' as it ramps up it's damage as you hold down the trigger on something. You've completed every challenge regardless of that, but figured it worth bringing up somewhere before I fade into lurking and bing watching).
I'll admit, doing this dungeon solo at first took me hours upon hours to get done, until i got it done in about 4 hours and.. with both bosses having such big health pools aka 13M each.. makes it so long to get done, but really good to pull it off honestly, but trying solo flawless drained a LOT of my sanity, especially the last boss took me around 6 phases if not 8 depending of the boss's movements. Love your content, makes my day everytime ^^
You might not know this but even with roaring flames x1 you can just melee kill enemies to refresh the stack, increase roaring flames, and create a sunspot. Saves those risky hammer throws
Hey Toad, small suggestion for you if you ever try to solo Ghosts again. Consider using Without Remorse with Incandescent. Due to the explosion after every kill and Extrovert giving you a small amount of health after every kill when surrounded could help your survivability

I hope that you would give this another attempt at some point. I believe the final boss is at 1810 power, so gaining a few levels on the seasonal artifact would reduce damage taken and increase your damage dealt, reducing the amount of damage phases. That being said, GG on getting her down to 30% health!
I did this solo flawless (Banner Titan with Precious Scars) a few months back and am so proud I still havnt taken off the Emblem I got for it. It took me 3 hours and took 3 years off my life doing this dungeon solo flawless. My thumb was killing me and I was mentally drained fighting the tedious final boss but I pulled it off and it was one of the best feelings I've had in gaming.
One tip from somebody who solo flawlessed it, for ecthar i used arbi and burning maul with a heavy gl, for final boss i used tracking rockets with arbi and throwing hammer ❤

I find the names funny for the symbols This is my favourite Dungeon and I’ve got a good set of names imo: nail (for vex), crosshairs and dot-crosshairs (the two really similar ones), man, drone for the one like man but with dots, circle and division I think they’re mostly self explanatory lol :D

You really got to max out your resilliance when trying to face tank the first boss. Even though going from tier 9 to 10 is small, you'll feel the difference.
Explosive light, tracking rocket and Double special arby to Break the shield then swap to the rocket run around and don’t stop shooting there should be a lot of heavy ammo
I tip my Hat to you sir. This Dungeon had me broken at the Wizard. I has in the dungeon for 8Hours.. And i choked at like 10%hp after around 2hours at the Wizard. That day was a Dark time and i havent tried it since.
for lament: throw on lucent blade. hold block > light > light > heavy > light > light. repeat wishender is really good for the big room before the final boss i wiped so many times on the final boss because i forgot to check the symbol in the hive guardian rooms x.x ended up 8 phasing it w/ leviathan's breath but it would have been 7 if i didn't whiff my super on the 7th phase
hey i know it was a lot to run and it was exhausting to do but solo final boss becomes a lot easier with a tracking rocket i used a blowout with tracking explosive light and hard launch i didn’t even get impact casing as was able to 5 phase the final boss trust me it does make it much easier as it’s way more reliable for dmg
Some recommendations: If u continue on solar titan the fragment that extends restoration on solar kill. For 1st boss make a set route for the underwater that can hit all the symbols and use it. Easier then memorizing where all of em are. As for weapons xeno clowns the floating eyeballs and wizards in the transition zones, and does reasonable dmg for final boss with no need to crit. Also for the 2 bosses don't be afraid to bail by jumping into the water the only thing that can kill you in water is the pressure, not moths nades or other spam. I've used the water to regen my mini hammer, super, and chat with buddies.
Watching those damage phases with the wizard and all the split screens of killing the guardians shows just how tedious this dungeon is. I love the aesthetics and story behind it. I loved seeing a lucent hive dreadnought in the distance as you’re floating down. It’s just that the repetitive killing of all the lightbearers gets boring to me
The five lines layered on eachother is "Burger" The rotated parentheses with a line through them is "pokeball" What he's calling vex we call "Ice cream" The Utensil with a 'v' instead of a dot we call "spider" Utensil we call "stubby (spider missing the two lower legs)" Utensil with legs we call "temple (looks like a temple)" The One he calls table, we also call table, so good to know that one is universal.
Could you imagine if this boss fight incorporated Oryx more? Like there's a time limit to kill the boss, and if you don't reach it you have to fight Oryx instead? I know you start the encounter by crush the ghost, but still. It'd be cool.
I too have subjected myself to this dungeon an ungodly amount. I have managed to get solo flawless to the final wizard, and I have 3 friends who have it beat solo flawless. However I cannot for the life of me beat this boss because as you said; when playing for over an hour straight you are almost bound to mess up.
Really entertaining for sure and i feel your pain. I will never finish it, it just takes too long solo and even then, its not 100% clear that you get the exotic. By the way, how did you do these cool transitions? Which video editor do you use?
I call it beetle, X, eye, cone, rabbit, spider, lines, and 3 dot How he got table and person is beyond the comprehension of our makers. I watched the Ecthar-Simmu stream and have been filled with nothing but dread returning. I tried and on my 3rd SF attempt, finally got to her, and got instakilled by moths. I haven't touched the dungeon since and prolly not till I'm 1830 will I go back. The sheer amount of things that can instakill you in this dungeon if you're not paying 100% attention for an hour+ is ridiculous. But I will be back, as I'm sure you will. personally, spire was the hardest solo flawless dungeon i’ve done so far. everything about that dungeon is easy, even damage for last boss, but it’s damage for the first boss. it feels so short even when i break all of the eyes fast and the damage for some reason doesn’t feel right every time i do it. im glad i got the solo flawless cuz i will never solo that dungeon ever again 😂.

Ever do the Ruinous Effigy catalyst? If you didn't do it when it came out, or after sunsetting and you could no longer shoot those random savathun eyes, the weapon required either 3k or 5k kills. I believe it was 3k. I the next highest was 800 I believe.... Took forever and I've hated the weapon since.. Also, tether hunter makes catalysts go by quick... for most weapons anyway. But if you're trying to use legend of acrius, the catalyst is a must for that extra 50% damage with trench. I also kept mixing up those two symbols. Lol.

The acrius catalyst actually makes the gun more than 5 times better. You get +4 mag size, trench barrel and reload speed.

hardest to solo is an understatement, I feel like solo flawless every other dungeon in a row would be less stressful than this one dungeon
i cleared ecthar today. It only took about 65 tries. I had one attempt go for 15.6 million damage, and still fell short. It's awful.

Always suppress Ecthar w tractor at the start of the damage phase

As someone who solo flawlessed it, this was painful to watch but for sure entertaining
Use tracking rockets on the final boss. It's much more consistent than linears. I was able to knock it down to a seven phase because of it.

Quick tip for lament: use “lucent blade” mod on your chest armor to get the guard bar back faster

Watching those damage phases with the wizard and all the split screens of killing the guardians shows just how tedious this dungeon is. I love the aesthetics and story behind it. I loved seeing a lucent hive dreadnought in the distance as you’re floating down. It’s just that the repetitive killing of all the lightbearers gets boring to me

Could you imagine if this boss fight incorporated Oryx more? Like there's a time limit to kill the boss, and if you don't reach it you have to fight Oryx instead? I know you start the encounter by crush the ghost, but still. It'd be cool.

The best way to use lament is charge it after jumping, spam 4 light attacks and 1 heavy, rinse repeat.

I too have subjected myself to this dungeon an ungodly amount. I have managed to get solo flawless to the final wizard, and I have 3 friends who have it beat solo flawless. However I cannot for the life of me beat this boss because as you said; when playing for over an hour straight you are almost bound to mess up.

Really entertaining for sure and i feel your pain. I will never finish it, it just takes too long solo and even then, its not 100% clear that you get the exotic.

I watched the Ecthar-Simmu stream and have been filled with nothing but dread returning. I tried and on my 3rd SF attempt, finally got to her, and got instakilled by moths. I haven't touched the dungeon since and prolly not till I'm 1830 will I go back. The sheer amount of things that can instakill you in this dungeon if you're not paying 100% attention for an hour+ is ridiculous. But I will be back, as I'm sure you will. personally, spire was the hardest solo flawless dungeon i’ve done so far. everything about that dungeon is easy, even damage for last boss, but it’s damage for the first boss. it feels so short even when i break all of the eyes fast and the damage for some reason doesn’t feel right every time i do it. im glad i got the solo flawless cuz i will never solo that dungeon ever again 😂.
Ive found jacking my mobility stat makes ecthar much more comfortable, because it increases the underwater move speed

Ever do the Ruinous Effigy catalyst? If you didn't do it when it came out, or after sunsetting and you could no longer shoot those random savathun eyes, the weapon required either 3k or 5k kills. I believe it was 3k. I the next highest was 800 I believe.... Took forever and I've hated the weapon since.. Also, tether hunter makes catalysts go by quick... for most weapons anyway. But if you're trying to use legend of acrius, the catalyst is a must for that extra 50% damage with trench.
I also kept mixing up those two symbols. Lol.
