The Baby Plugging is SO GOOD for ned rigs. I know these guys aren’t fans of the technique, but it’s a beast at launching those light neds with outstanding bottom feel!
Super rad breakdown of these rods. Would LOVE a similar breakdown of BFS rods: Pop-x stick, Bait Finesse, Criffhanger, Kasumi Six Eleven, 72 Zodias BFS, Etc
Brother well needed breakdown of rods got into bass fishing a few months ago with low sucess but watching your videos i have had a better understanding in gear and baits
I just bought the baby plugging from your shop, will be pairing 2500 Exist on it for crappies. You said perfect for crappies! I am going to love it! I am loving the wind buster i bought 3 weeks ago for bigger fish. I love the quality
I've found the Windbuster paired with the Shimano Twin-Power 3000 spooled with 12lb. braid to 10lb. / 12lb. Flourocarbon leader. The Flyssa plays well with the Shimano Exsense 3000. Spooled with 19lb. braid and 8lb. Flourocarbon leader. I bought both rods from the Hook Up Tackle shop and your videos got me into fishing both rods! THANKS!!
Great video. I’m a big Megabass P5 guy but my favorite Megabass spinning rod is the pre P5 Destroyer Flyssa. Awesome Ned rod and recently discovered it excels at hover strolling too. Second favorite is the Windbuster for free rigging followed by the new Flyssa for Ned’s and grubs. I drop shot with the Landsat and it does that well. I try to explain these rods to a friend and he doesn’t get it. I catch most of my fish by sensing they are there. Probably catch more through the subtle feel then a thump. I can only imagine how many fish I’ve missed with other rods. These rods are so sensitive. It’s corny but I feel in tune with the rods. Planning on adding an Addermine to my arsenal soon.
Awesome video break down. I’ve been testing the Flyssa for a few months. It’s an awesome fun rod. I struggle with a drop shot on it. However, throwing tubes on it have been amazing on hook up for bass fishing. With the cold season coming up soon and trout plants starting here in Cali. I’m excited to test small swim baits and jigs on it. 🤘
I’m a bit late, but would you say that you could cover most “spinning applications” by having the Windbuster and the Whippet… since you called the whippet the “baby Windbuster”. Thank you
Sorry if..i want fish with... Sof plastic stick bait... Or shad or Texas rig (weightless).. Senko... Or similar... What s the best choice? I'm interested to buy one
90% of my fishing is spinning rods!! Ronin, dark sleeper, shaky head, whipsnake, along with an army of st croix and g loomis oh this includes salt water along with a g loomis heavy 8' pro green that i use for musky here on lake st clair and for big snook and tarpon in florida!!!
Did they changed wind buster color ? My old one was darker wich i sadly lost .new one is more like gray color? If they changed and I remember right did they changed material too?
The grip on the spinning rods is perfection for any technique where the tip is pointed up, but horribly uncomfortable when trying to work the rod tip down. That being said I never use spinning for tip down techniques so it’s a non-issue
This video made me sad. I broke my Whippet a couple of weeks ago on a large fish that dove straight down under my kayak when I tried to net it, snapping the rod in the process. Then last week I got into a car accident on the way back from fishing and my Baby Plugging and Windbuster were destroyed 😢 At least my Flyssa and Addermine survived. I agree though, those five rods are great. Really love the Addermine for little EWG jig heads rigged with little plastics. The other P5 I really like is the Kirisame Kameyama. I like it for pitching and skipping weightless plastics under docks and over hangs. I recently started throwing back glides with it since I can open the bale and let the bait slide way up under there.
I have 0 experience in fishing. But I was always interested in it. If I want to purchase fishing rod and other equipment, what is my best option. We live near ocean. So fishing on beach is our best option.
I primarily use spinning rods for 1/4oz dropshot on #2 rebarb 80% of the time and use it for 1/4oz underspins with 2.8 keitechs the other other 20%. Is a windbuster the best rod for me?
I've been trying to find a top tier small swimbait rod (like spark shads 3.3" keitechs). I'm using an iRod right now and it's actually great...but I know there's better and lighter.
im chasing 10 to 25 lbs brown trout, king salmon, and steel head. I like using my stradic 2500, so light and smooth and i use it in every conditon, gets dirty, just drop it in the water and clean it, smooth cast and reel. what kind of p5 would you recommend.
I believe if mega bass would put a torzite guides on there rods they would sell faster than they are now but what gets me is dobyns Xtasy has them and the rod is only $550 so the rod cost $300 and the torztie guides cost $250 vice a versa what’s up with that deal you know the answer

Thanks for going over the different rods in the line-up with explanation’s. Definitely re-watch material! Have a great week!
Thank you for watching 🍻

My whippet is a never sell rod, I love that one and glad to see it included
I'm planning on purchasing a whippet. I don't do a lot of mid strolling.. but would it work for that?
@ Yes, especially with lighter baits.
@chefmatt6299 awesome! Thank you for responding so fast! I can't wait to get one
@@chefmatt6299ordered my whippet 2 days ago. Can't wait to get it!!!!!
Finally something I’ve been needing

I love the grip. I know my nrx+ is awesome but the drip sold me on these rods.
Great video. What would be the spinning rod that you recommended for shad/bottom contact between 1-2oz , for river boat fishing? Thank you
Thanks dude. But I’m stopped out at Orochi pricewise for the time being. Any way you could do a parallel through the model lines sometime? 😢
I've been waiting for this! Thanks Ben!! 🙌🏽💯👊🏽🤙🏽💪🏽. About to pull the trigger on the Big 5. 🎣🪝🔥💯
Love the rod break down videos one rod I can’t seem to find any info on is the jade python
Wonderful explanation and really nice bunch of rods. Thank you
Thanks for the breakdown on the rods! Thanks for sharing!
Getting the best from the best. We're Spinners fan. Cheers Hook-Up Tackle.
What G.Loomis NRX+ is closest to the Addermine?
I’m a bit late, but would you say that you could cover most “spinning applications” by having the Windbuster and the Whippet… since you called the whippet the “baby Windbuster”. Thank you
Great video! How would the Alyssa compare to the NRX+ 901s and 902s? Thanks.
901 is quite a bit lighter, but I use it for the same things, I can just go lighter if I need to. I’m told the 902 is more like the Flyssa.
Sorry if..i want fish with... Sof plastic stick bait... Or shad or Texas rig (weightless).. Senko... Or similar... What s the best choice? I'm interested to buy one

3/16-1/4oz head with 2.8-3.3 keitech swimbait. Open water with timber (table rock lake), Flyssa #1 choice? What would second choice be? Thanks.

If I wanted to drop down from the P5s to the Orochi would the Shakeyhead be the closes match to the Addermine?
What would be the better Great Lakes (big wave) nose hook/exposed hook 1/4oz drop shot rod... Flyssa or NRX+ 902? Great video by the way!
The baby plugging is a awesome great lakes dropshot rod
Thanks Travis!

Have you ever reviewed the STIX Rods?
Ben. I’m surprised you guys didn’t talk about the Landsat. Do you have any reservations against it?
He says it in the vid

Nrx + 852s not in the list ?
Vyrai jusu laidos super🇱🇹👍
The Kirisame Kameyama Special is the best P5 spinning rod 😊
What baits do throw with it?
@@frankhunt5018 almost always a 5” wacky rigged Senko.
Hi guys. Is there a P5 spinning rod that you’d recommend for 3/8 to 1/2 ounce jerkbaits? Even if it is super niche.
P5 Landsat 😊
Not a P5, but I love the medium Valkyrie for that. Has a great tip and you can shorten the handle for working the bait better.
Windbuster.
I think the only rod on here that is revolutionary is the Flyssa. That thing is a killer for spybaits.
Megabass will drop the successor line to P5 destroyer in early mid 2024 for japan
I'm wierd. I naturally put all of my fingers above the reel and back my pinkie up against the reel seat
P5👍😎
I have a lot of success spybaiting on the Wind Buster. I find it difficult to find what it doesn't do well. That rod is ridiculous...

Can someone at Hook up Tackle PLEASE weigh the Flyssa in grams?? I've searched everywhere on the web with ZERO success.
Whippet is great for small jerkbaits but not for bottom contacts it is because jts tip is too soft

It is a shame that the windbuster is that tip heavy. Otherwise i would love that rod
