I am trying to build my own generator. I found a kubota engine like urs n an alternator . I am wondering what control panel did u use n did it come assembled like it’s in the video?
I can't get over the attention to detail. My hats off to you. I have so many question. Hope you don't mind. So the engine, is it new and where did you pick one up? I see a ton of them really used hard, "APU's" to semi's. The muffler, did you make it? the bell housing to generator, did you cast that or buy it? I assume the beep is some sort of controller? What is it, Arduino? The red hose at the bottom, drain tube for oil? I notice that a couple of your angle aluminum pieces show no paint where you cut it off leading me to think you might have purchased pre painted angle aluminum? How long in hours did it take you? Lastly and I hope you don't mind me asking, total cost? If I where to guess 3,500? or 4K? Once again, nice craftsmanship..
There's some more info here: www.microcogen.info/index.php?topic=3390.0 The engine was purchased new from an importer about 5 years ago, the radiator and muffler are Honda Civic parts. The controller came from eBay. Some of the aluminum angle from the scrapyard was already powder coated. Not sure how many hours, not too many. When it was completed I sold it to a friend for $5K to power his off-grid property.
The Kubota Z482 is used in both the Kubota Low Boy series generators as well as the Multiquip DA series generators such as the DA7000. Both of these examples are direct-coupled two pole generators that require 3600 rpm to produce the proper frequency. (Additionally, if 3600 rpm meant machinery would "vibrate itself to death", it does make one wonder how any engine ever would be allowed to be allowed to operate at that speed.)
+VE8EV Your kubota is approx 12 h.p at 3500 rpm. Would your alternator be 5 k.w. I'm building a Lister TS2 generator air cooled 20 h.p. I'm thinking possibly of going to kubota as a local parts guy is selling off kubota engines and parts to clear. The lister is big & heavy compared to the kubota.
I came across this as a suggested video. I must say this is a very nice build.
Curious, what adapter and generator head did you use?
How is the generator mounted to the Z482 - what kind/spec is the flywheel/housing; what kind of generator coupling ?
Does anyone know what generator head this and where to get the adapter for the kubota
What is the horse power of this genarator

Why not give price ...your work very good good job
So is that a kit or you put the generator on the end.
is that true ,Kubota engine spend lots of fuell?
??
@@bradjenkins932 if engine run full throttle about 2 minutes and eat 3 liters fuel. That I mean
@Busse No that's per hour at 60% load its in the description

A vehicle alternator? they are only 14.4v
saludos por fabor digame el nombre y el modelo de ese motor
En un motor Yanmar diesel de tres cilindros mayor mente usado en thermo king "camiones refrigerados".

Woww bdw how much it cost to buy
Motorzinho de resposta muito rápida.
What generator head did you mount to this motor? any information on it?
It's a Northstar as far as I can tell but not sure on wattage. Probably 10k to 15k would be my guess.
VE8EV Very nicely done! Any worries about the aluminum cracking, or do you have the engine rubber isolated?
Rubber isolators under the engine brackets and the alternator. It has about 200 hours on it so far without issues.

What is the price of these generator
Hello sir kitna kv ka hi
Wow 2 liter in one hour? my generator consumes 1.2 liter per hour at full load 230v 6 kw 1500 rpm.
lexpee : that doesn't make sense, or you don't 100%........ You must have 2 liters consumption
@@peterevenhuis2663 ..LOL,, You don't make sense..
Of course if your belt driven ….you you can operate at a lower engine economical range
What is the load capacity in Kva
How much they price plzz tell me I need only one☝
Brother, look in junkyards, this is found in refrigerated truck cooling plants.
What's the cost of above generator

3600rpm's ...it will vibrate itself to death.
Looks pretty smooth to me
Would make sense to have 48v DC generator and run it with low rpms.

3600 for diesel is too fast. Slow down to 2400 rpm belt drive alternator.

2 litres of fuel used in one hour if I'm correct?
+0BMM1 On the first run at 60% that was exactly what it consumed. Notionally it will improve somewhat as the engine breaks in.
