None of your videos are the same. Each one is different in its own way. I enjoy every single video. Your channel is specifically kayak fishing driven, which you deliver 110% of the time with great content. Keep up the grind!💪🏼
Thanks Mark glad to see you use some of the baits i sent, new areas are tough. And if you ever get into fly fishing I'll send a bunch of flies ive been making.👍💪🎣
After the hurricane of 1900, they dug out what is now Offats Bayou in order to build the seawall and raise Galveston. Water always seems to be clear there. If I'm not mistaken, they do diver certifications there.
I loved how you incorporated the prep and showed how you organize all your gear. Keep that up and maybe do a little more about why you avoided some of the options you had to fish with that day. I always get to learn something from you from each video.
This area has always been known as a good spot in really cold weather. In old times people would fill up the boat w/trout/reds that were trying to seek warmer/deep water.
I would say give it a try Chocolate bayou on highway 2004 going to Galveston under the big Bridge.kayak to the right side of the Bridge not the side of the plant.there alot of good spots for large flounder and reds out here and the lorance will do a good job .there a massive hole if u find it by a few house there nice reds that hide there.hope to see u make a video of chocolate bayou soon with rx angler
I fish here almost weekly...mostly trout and sunfish. Christmas day last year there was a huge sandtrout run and many of us were pulling them out left and right. Great spot. If folks are looking for another great spot -- but for $12 -- 61st Street Fishing Pier is my favorite.
there is a large reef in the center of that area me and my husband did some kayaking around there and you can stand on the reef its like 20ft all around it.
Offats bayou was the area they took dirt from to make the seawall. That is why the bottom is flat with a uniform depth. Basically a sand pit now filled with water.
Thanks for the video, Mark. I enjoyed it. I need to pick up some bio-bait when I am at the coast, I have not seen any in the Austin area. Thanks again, tight lines my friend!
Thought about fishing off the pier but not sure now. Nothing to attract the fish there. I think they should bring some rocks and make it a flounder spot.
When I lived on tiki island the kayakers use to brag about the fish they caught off the Sand bar w the oyster bed is....plus at night a ton of night lights
Some of my friends and family especially when I was younger used to kid me that I would eat ANYTHING that I caught that is mostly true and i have learned pinfish are tasty
That’s where I normally go fishing whenever i go Night fishing with my fishing friend, we normally catch sand trouts , whitings and pinfish , We also go to this spot under the bridge by Galveston bait and tackle store , I usually get keeper flounders there , I also catched stingrays there and i seen people catch sheepshead but to get them you have to cast out far. I wish i had a fishing kayak , they’re expensive 😰Good vid anyways mark , keep up the great work!!
I only go to that area if I have a little bit of time left at the end of the day. But just like you experienced, I only catch pin fish out there. Pretty cool you caught a flat and a speck though. I hear people catching stuff other than pin, but personally...nothing but pins. Hope to bump into you one day brother!
I was there the week after x-mas. Would've geeked out if i saw you haha. I only caught 3 undersized trouts East of the bridge by the apartments. There's some sheephead there too but they don't bite.
Id use them jigs to catch my pinfish for bait, then have another rod out with a life pin just chillin out to one side of the yak while i fished actively with the artificial for more bait or that lucky flounder/trout.
Good scouting trip. On the video side - what do you do about batteries on hat mounted GoPro, Do you just change batteries a lot? Also do you record in a loop or just record everything? Thanks for any advice. I kind of new to the GoPro stuff. Semper Fi
Good shit. Dig your tackle room. Much more organized than mine. My tackle room looks like what used to be the bargain cave at Bass Pro. Total cluster f*ck...lol
Fish the tip of long Reef get on top of the reef an anchor there's a 35 foot drop fish one foot off the bottom this time of the year the trout will have mud all over their bellies give them a slow presentation and you will rack up on these trout
Man I hate this spot I never catch anything besides piggy perch, but thanks for making this video so now I know. It would be great if you make this same kind of video on the TX City Dike, Thanks Mark!

Yeah that’s the one I found. I wished it had live oyster, I would’ve tried fishing it if it did. Never the less the scenery was beautiful out there.

The airport runway lighting structure is good for trout in early spring. Caught some good ones wading about 3/4 of the way down.

You gonna fish for snapper in June & July? Galveston has to party boats and if you load up on pin fish you will catch monsters on the 12hr.
Great video, thanks.
I have been there a few times but I only caught some "Blue Crab". Nice vid DDOG.
Great content! Side note our neighborhood Starbucks will be open this coming Monday woot woot!😅

It’s the main reason why I always traveled to fish better producing waters.
Thanks for lnfo, never caught anything there from pier.
My pops use to fish behind the airport really good area. I'm 54 ,it was when I was a kid. I think you need boat ot kayak to get back there now.
I was there the week after x-mas. Would've geeked out if i saw you haha. I only caught 3 undersized trouts East of the bridge by the apartments. There's some sheephead there too but they don't bite.
Fished there before, caught nothing in hours, except a tiny little one.

They got wet.

Admit it, you just wanted to go to the Hooters on 61st & Heard Lane when the fishing was over. Don't worry, your secret is safe with us ;)
