You know what Silph after youll do sinnoh tournament which i know well wait long fir it but when youll do it you could do champion of japan tournament as first four regions are based on it. So tournament of four champions would produce champion of Japan. What would you day to that?
It would've just been able to use another dragon dance to get around it. Sabrina should've used Encore instead. You know that gyarados is going to want to set up on a wall like wobbufett, of course it used dragon dance.
Wowww thanks so much my friend, it's an honor! That means a lot that you'd go above and beyond to support the channel. So glad you're enjoying the series as well 🙌
Goddamn, Sabrina got rolled hard. I was expecting a bit more back and forth, but damn. Espeon walking into that Sucker Punch set the tone for the match though. Soon as I saw the Dugtrio come out, I knew what was coming.
This so perfectly fits story wise... There is only 1 Mewto! Which is owned by Giovanni, but which he sometimes gives to Sabrina, because she's secretly working for Team Rainbow Rocket! And even so both registered with a Mewto in the Party, to confuse the others and to make them believe that there are actually 2 Mewtwo, it's really just the same. That's why Giovanni didn't use Mewto in this battle and just fought 5 vs 6, with his Mewto on the opponent site. Still winning because there's a reason why he's the Boss!
Giovanni: *Emerges out an ultra wormhole* Sabrina: *Teleports onto the battlefield, hovering above the ground* Giovanni: Your psychic powers are unique and powerful, why don’t you join Team Rocket ? Sabrina: *Her eyes and bracelets glow* I can foresee every horrific thing you’ll do, I’d never join you Giovanni: *Clenches his masterball* For a psychic you make poor choices… *Both trainers ready their pokeballs* *…BATTLE BEGIN…*
the winner not gonna be one of the monotype teams oak, red, blue or Giovanni one of those will be the winner can't wait to see which one will take the first place
MrJonathanoscar Doubt it, Red and Blue are both incredibly well rounded, with Red having his team be a slight bit more tanky. If Silph set up the brackets the way I think he did, it may actually come down to a battle between Red and Blue.
@@MrJonathanoscar it's all depend if tyranitar can live aura sphere from. mewtwo in the end Giovanni ace if tyranitar can take this he can take it down with crunch and than the rest of Giovanni not really offer too much
I totally remember back in Gen 3 when Smogon made the decision to send Wobbuffet to Ubers. This exact situation, where a Pokemon could just set up on it, was my exact argument as to why it didn't need to go. Glad to see it still stands true.
Giovanni looked at Sabrina like he wasn't part of the birth of the creature she tried to use against him. It's like he knew she didn't understand the full potential of Mewtwo as a weapon of destruction, so he didn't even need pull his out to defeat her. Hmm...Actually this headcannon suits his character exceptionally well. It's bold and arrogant for him to look that far down on what used to be his fellow gym leaders, especially after losing Rainbow Rocket in Alola. I know this man had to have been on the grind preparing to crush every enemy in his way to realize his goal of total domination. They would meet up in the arena and Sabrina would scoff at him, her Pokeballs levitating around her. Sabrina: "You may have power, but time and again you have shown a lack of heart that inevitably brings you to your knees. Today, I foresee your defeat with the very power you created!" Giovanni: "Oh, child. You cannot begin to fathom the level of power you attempt to wield. I will show you the error of flying too close to the sun. Prepare for total annihilation, Sabrina. I will remind you once more why I was the strongest Gym Leader of Kanto." Not that being a Gym Leader would matter that much to him anymore anyway, but adding that personal burn feels right
Knowing that Wobbufet would have to eventually be sacked, I feel like Sabrina had a chance to Destiny Bond that Gyrados and missed it by going for her ace a turn early. This was an excellent battle, and it probably could have gone either way, Giovanni was awesome too, and it would've been neat to see the two Mewtwo sets go head to head.
This battle might literally have been decided by a single hit-point: if Espeon had done just 1 HP more damage, Sabrina would have gotten an early lead and avoided all that Stealth Rock damage, which could very well have been enough to win. She could still have possibly taken it as is, if Wobbuffet had used Encore on that Gyarados before she switched it out.
Dugtrio survived because of focus sash, there was nothing Espeon could do... But in saying that switching out would have been a smarter play, predicting the sucker punch and saving espeon for later.
@@jordanf9257 There was no notification (i.e. "Dugrio hung on using its Focus Sash!"), so it wasn't using a Focus Sash to survive that Psychic. If it was holding a Focus Sash, then that would indeed have prevented the KO in the event of Espeon doing more damage. Espeon wouldn't have been able to switch out, though, unless Dugtrio didn't have Arena Trap for some reason.
@@elijahpadilla5083 In a tournament where you know who you are likely going to be facing before registration, it's wise to set up the mons to survive/ko specific match ups. Espeon is a very common lead and Dugtrio has to only survive 1 Psychic. That's incredibly easy to calculate vs max SpAtk Espeon. Even if he didn't know the bracket ahead of registration, Espeon is the most threatening counter for Dugtrio in the tournament due to Magic Bounce.
The passivity of Wobbuffet had cost Sabrina her two matches since it became set-up fodder for sweepers. She might have been better off replacing it for another fast, dangerous pokemon as is her usual go to strategy.
Sabrina could have won if she hadn't switched out Wobbefet for some reason. She could have destiny bonded it like she did in her match with Brock and had both Metagross and Mewtwo to face off with Just Giovanni's Mewtwo. Or at least if it couldn't move before Gyarados, it would have given her a free switch in to Mewtwo instead of having to take a hit.
It's a true proof of Giovanni's ability that he took down Sabrina's entire team without even using his ace Mewtwo. But can he defeat Red, the only trainer who ever stopped him?
Can we just appreciate how much time and effort it takes to set these battles up? Even if he's using an emulator and/or hacking mons/game profiles its still a huge time sink. And the results are absolutely worth it. Great job man.
So I just stumbled upon this. Ended up watching the others too. I didn’t think I’d like watching commentary battles so much. Any channels (TH-cam or twitch) that you’d recommend that do commentaries?

In the end, we get the Red vs Blue that everyone wants.

Parental Bond Mega Alakazam is one of the coolest things I’ve seen!

Switching out the low health wobbuffet for the mewtwo was a very bad move from sabrina.
That Moxie dragon dance Gyrodois was a crazy play.
