So it's the summer of 1983. Some friends and I decide to do a night hike in Snowdonia. My mate's dad has lent him his Bedford CF minibus, so we load up and at 10pm we leave Merseyside heading for North Wales. As it gets darker we pass the maze of lights from the ICI plant in Runcorn, looking like something from Outland. Twenty minutes later we see Stanlow (of OMD fame), and we're soon on the A55 headed for Betws y Coed. As it gets later and darker, someone hands forward a cassette, it goes in the stereo, and this track comes on. We were spellbound! It put us in just the right mood for walking through Welsh forests in pitch darkness. We chatted little, only in whispers, until dawn arrived and we finally made camp, still too exhilarated to sleep. I'd forgotten about that, 37 years ago when I was young, slim, and could actually walk more than forty yards without having to sit down and catch my breath. Thank you Jose, that was absolutely wonderful! 8o)
Tengo 50 y muy feliz pero el punks es mi guía de vida. Recuerdo tener el VHS 📼 the cure in orange y éste tema . Era celestial verlo en vivo hacer las guitarras en sinth super buen trabajo.. Gracias por incluir the forest en tu recopilación de joyas de la música 🎶
Very well improvised and justifying cover of The Cure's 'A Forest'. Loved it. All the sounds you incorporated, the way you played, everything.... well done. I think this is perhaps one of the most intriguing covers you have ever done (with your other covers, they are more or less true to the studio recordings but this one being a live interpretation of a classic makes it something fresh). :-)
Great cover! That guitar sound sample just like an original! Very cool. First time I discovered this song when it was played one of my all the time favorite new-wave/gothic-rock band Clan of Xymox. Really recommend to listen if you still didn`t =)
Enorabuena
Apart from the Original from the ALMIGHTY CURE. this has to be the very next best & closest to the original VERY ENJOYABLE!!!! Who says you can't make a keyboard sound like guitars this goes to prove you can. 😁👍😉🎶🎵🎶🎶🎸🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹
Love this cover. Though your guitar sounds are very good, I'd also love to hear a version with more synthy sounds. Maybe drop in a Depeche Mode sound bank? :)
So well done! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I wish there was a tutorial for the guitar solo parts you’re doing on the verses. Is it mainly just playing a particular scale? Also, how does the progress go for that part that begins with B? Hope you don’t mind me asking...

No, I haven't it. Although I have a DX7 II FD, which is basically the same sound engine (with 16 bit converters). (Adding, I chose that nickname because DX7 was already registered, in those times where TH-cam nicknames were unique.)
[Verse 1]
Come closer and see
See into the trees
Find the girl while you can
Come closer and see
See into the dark
Just follow your eyes

Calling my name
The sound is deep
In the dark
I hear her voice
And start to run
Into the trees

[Verse 3]
Suddenly I stop
But I know it's too late
I'm lost in a forest
All alone
The girl was never there
It's always the same
I'm running towards nothing
Again and again and again and again

I saw The Cure in concert in Manchester in 2016.
That is awesome
Magistral.
Gracias. Aunque fue bastante improvisado. No es un tema para teclas :)

Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I cannot tell you technically about scales or progressions, as I am a self taught musician. I play by ear :)

Wundervoll, is the reverb on the snare gated or is it a short delay time? Thank you for this 80s jewel.
No gate. Just a short lenght reverb with pre delay.
I wonder if he could perform BURN & THE WALK from THE CURE I DO HOPE SO!!! 🤔🤔🤔👍👍👍😉
