Hey Ironhorse, i hope all is well with you and that your health is getting better! Havent seen a video from you for a few months and got me hoping your ok! We all miss you buddy!!!
IRONHORSE, God Bless and Protect you for sharing your life and wisdom with us:) Bless you for taking me and my family with you today:) This was a big surprise:) I love the view and the power, spending time with you is just the best IRONHORSE:)
The last time I seen Santa plowing snow, was on your channel; you caught THAT time on video too. You and Santa must be pals or something? Actually, this video seem familiar; if it is a redo; I appreciate seeing it again. Merry Blessed Christmas to you and your fine family.
We all love spending time with you, IRONHORSE, you always find a way to make us feel like kids again. You are our Fountain Of Youth, IRONHORSE, Bless you for that:)
I remember back when I plowed, seeing a Target store with a huge pile of red shopping carts, guessing guy was tired of people not putting them back and decided he'd move them in a huge pile of snow 20' tall 😅.
Stihl 042 and 048 TECH NOTE: I found out that the Stihl 042 and 048 have 2 different magneto and timing systems; one is a SEM and the other is a Bosch type. The SEM type was not use very long and there are NO aftermarket Magneto/coils made for them that I know of... But the Bosch type has a lot of aftermarket Magneto/coils available. How you can tell the difference is the magnetic flywheel, the SEM system has a larger tapered crank on the flywheel side and the Bosch has a smaller taper. They are two different timings on these. So, if you have the SEM type and the Magneto goes out, you have to try and find a good used one because the aftermarket Bosch Type WILL NOT WORK! The saw will start but sneeze and cough and get hot and stop running at higher RPMs. The only fix if you have a SEM type and the Magneto/Coil goes out, is to replace the crank and flywheel with a Bosch type or find a good used SEM OEM Magneto/coil. Hope this helps the next person who runs across this problem, because you can spend a lot of money trying to figure it out, and STIHL technical is NO HELP! I found the owner of The Little Red Barn who sells parts for chainsaws and garden power equipment, was a Stihl mechanic years ago and has all the service manuals for them... He told me exactly what the problem was that I was having. So, I changed the crank and flywheel to a Bosch type and the saw runs great now... after about 500 bucks worth of parts and many I didn't need... Oh Well, you can teach an old dog new tricks, it just may cost you to learn them.
