Theres always been homeless and drug addicts in SF. Im born and raised here, so I've seen it. Back back in 2010-12 sometime around there... Mayor Ed Lee told all the tech companies to come to SF and he will give them tax breaks. They flocked and took over all the homes and rentals. Natives got kicked out of homes and businesses closed up (rents went up). Tech companies took over... Meanwhile, people were becoming more homeless and more on drugs and not to mention all that adds to people's mental health. Folks started stealing and more and more crime and drugs and all that stuff. Once covid happened, the tech companies flocked to texas and the city is pretty empty. Nobody likes the city anymore cause its not authentic. The tech companies took over and fucked it up. It's not fun anymore. Hopefully we can get there one day again. Oh and Mayor Ed Lee... That dude died after he did all the damages he did to SF. Theres a TH-cam video on this situation... I forgot which video, but you can definitely search the downfall of san Francisco and im sure you'll find something good. But its not juat SF... The entire bay area went all bad. Houses selling 300k over worth and rents hiked up so high you can't enjoy life
The trippy part you mentioned about Ed Lee is that dancer visited the exact same Safeway he died in and had a heart attack in. I miss the old SF and Bay Area

I live in South Bay but I went up to San Francisco for a summer camp trip. My friends and I were just walking around and two people starting fighting. I saw a clip fall out of someone’s pockets and boy, we got the hell out of there fast.
Its never going back to the way it was...Nothing is this is the new normal the great reset welcome to communism my friend..

love this. My mom grew up on Mark Twain Street in Reno, Nevada- I used to love learning about Mark Twain and all the crazy adventures he went on up in the Tahoe area.
I am in San Francisco 2-3 times a week. It’s one of those places that is undoubtedly beautiful, but if you spend enough time there it just gets on your nerves. You can go a month and have nothing happen to you. And then in a span of a week have your car broken into 3 times. But i enjoy it for what it is and im lucky to be close enough to this city that is unlike any in the world.
Yea to come to the city for a couple hours and say it’s not that bad is pretty dumb. It’s bad. Property crime and theft are out of control but it’s still a beautiful city.
I agree! Before moving here, I thought the mass media were exaggerating, but although that's true in part, I have seen many cases of rage outbursts and assaults, and I have been approached twice by some delinquents. Yes, it's not St. Louis, but still, I'm thinking about moving to the countryside-Oregon, probably-because living here takes its toll on your mind, and I wouldn't even dare raise a family here.
Sadly, the only thing that will make this city the best in the country is better policing and actual punishment for crime. It won't happen because the bluest tint of Democrats is in power here.

That big cross was made famous in one of the Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry movies back in the early 70s. It's the place he met the psycho.
Isn't that cross scene from the Dirty Harry film, based on the Zodiac Killer, who operated in and around the bay area in the late 1960's to early 70's?

It's interesting how not only the ice plants are invasive, but the beautiful yellow flowers that you see, the Oxalis pes-caprae, it's an invasive specie from south africa.

My Uncle is buried on the monastery hills of San Fransisco at the Russian Orthodox Church.
He died much to young and life was cut short. What a beautiful place.

*he is alive and well folks!* haha glad to see it bro. I grew up in the SF Bay Area and I used to love exploring the *Sutro Bath Ruins* near the Cliff House in Sutro Heights area. San Francisco used to be one of the classiest and most beautiful in the world. Honestly the last time I stayed there was about a year ago and the pandemic really just killed whatever zest it had left. It felt " _dead_ " to me as well... The founder of CashApp was stabbed while I was there only two blocks down. Kinda freaked me out from going back for awhile. SF is what you make of it, the homeless and drug use does get bad in certain parts but for the most part it's definitely not as bad as the media portray it to be. I'd be more scared in any US/Mexico border city TBH.

Parts, of SF are nice. But when you decriminalize stealing up to $995, businesses starts closing. Not to mention the city pays a crew to clean human feces off the streets. The cost of living and one of the highest tax rates in the country don’t help either 😂

San Francisco is a world class city and one of the most beautiful cities in the world.. I lived there for 7 years and miss it everyday. Great food, great entertainment, lots of diversity, beautiful classic street cars, great public transport, wonderful unique neighborhoods, classic architecture. I can't remember who it was who said "there are three cities in the US: New York, San Francisco and New Orleans; everything else is Cleveland".
It’s gross. Human feces everywhere and corrupt government that refuses to prosecute crime. There’s a reason people are fleeing CA for conservative states.
My sister lives there and she loves it. I did have to kick a homeless guy off her porch one night...that was awkward. But she really hasn't had many complaints. She got rid of her car a couple months after moving there and doesn't seem to miss it.

Born in SF and living on the east coast. So many people love to talk about SF over here. But people who bash SF, have not even been there. SF would have to fall and decline orders of magnitude, before it would even be comparable to the desperation and decay of cities like Baltimore, Philly. The worst parts of SF, are better than most parts of the east coast. And I don't even really like SF. It's just an observation about the bias in peoples minds.
Beautiful. I've only driven through San Francisco on my way down the coast. I like that you showed us the outskirts of the city... I think it's the best way to truly observe the city's feeling.
Treasure Island is a cool stop between bridges. Gives you a great panorama of the city.

Grew up a little bit here in Vacaville, moved to Gulfport MS when we were younger and was told it was better (it’s not) live in Colorado now and it’s freezing cold, wish the tax over there wasn’t raping my wallet and am planning to move back to good ole CA, atleast northcal

By the way those yellow flowers that are every where are called sour grass or sour clovers they are actually edible and taste like lemon they are around most areas in the San Fransisco peninsula and Marin headlands area.

I know Jesus is real when my son was 21yrs old he was in a near fatal car accident he died 3 times he was in coma 20 days. fast forward 5 months we watched the movie Is Heaven Real and the part when Jesus picture came up; my son said he just got the chills and pointed at the T.V and said that's him he said he was there with grandma and Kassie they passed away 2 months before my son's accident. my son didn't know who Jesus was before the accident. my son tells me he never wanted to come back because he was at peace.

At queen Anne hotel hi on c we spent the evening. My analog camera got photos of a basket ball size orb glowing next to me in half a dozen photos. My head out the window , I didn't say anything bad to ghost below of m pleasant on the sidewalk . Octavia and Sutter
been to basically all these places he went to in the video, so nostalgic. While san fran is infested with crackheads these days every time i visit, i never missed walking alongside the ocean, plus a lot of the neighboring towns have really nice beaches

You need to get to Thailand > everything 50% cheaper on ave & no sleeping bag ever needed...unless you wonder way North...hours from BKK > the South is absolutely phenomenal.. crime non -existent compared to other major Metro Regions like BKK & the Country in general has the nicest peaceful Buddhist loving ppl you'll ever find anywhere > can't go wrong with the food either.
You did a good job of showing the beauty of SF locale which of course is undeniable...but TBH it's become no secret it's not that much of a challenge to find the cringe stuff... human feces in the middle of downtown, pee odor, etc...& you actually found a new, relatively clean bart train...a minor miracle in & of... seriously.

For myself I've seen enough of California and would not return. Portugal is temperate all year long. It is beautiful, it all borders The Atlantic and has an old specific culture that isn't found anywhere in The U.S.!!
Man you shoulda seen it in like 2006.. weeks could walk around smoking weed and going all over and no fear whatsoever. I remember being like 16 at the canibus festival and cops handing us bottled water and little bags of Doritos. Last time I went we saw some crazy dude attacking an old lady.. and someone shit in the middle of the sidewalk on Market 😮
