I’m not sure if someone mentioned it *probably* but the legs/feet of the AVP Queen are also inaccurate. She had more Dino legs and not the OG Queen’s legs and heels. Still shocked that Neca hasn’t taken a jab at making the AVP Queen yet? But minus these nit picky details HiyaToys did a fantastic job with the scale!
@@Lust.06963 I’m surprised more people haven’t?! As a Queen simp my eyes go to the nit picky details and just was put off a bit that they still can’t manage to get the AVP Queen’s legs/feet correct? Not even the Micro-man AVP Queen has the correct feet. As for Neca maybe they’re all Queened out or not wanting to take a jab knowing she would have to be a larger scale compared to their first Queen? Lol
The queens from aliens and Resurrection are actually different colors in the movies. Not just lighting. Bob Burns got the queen head after Aliens and it was brought back and repainted for Resurrection. Cameron's queen colour scheme is my favorite, but the Resurrection is cool to as it kind of goes with their social insect like caste system.
I honestly would love to see both Hiya Toys & Neca attempt a figure based on the Sideshow Toys statue of the King Alien, which is one of my personal favorite Alien designs and one I prefer more than the Queen Alien.
The AVP queen is the safer choice since its already assembled. The original ALIENS queen will also be a nightmare should you ever need to put the figure back in the box.
One correction on the height of the Queen in Aliens. She was not 15 ft hunched over standing with her torso horizontal. There is a replica queen, molded from the prop from the movie itself, that stands 16 ft, standing about as fully upright as possible for her body plan. I wish I could provide a link, but YT doesn't like that. It was on a few websites being offered for 75,000 USD. Anyhow, hunched over, she'd be about 25% shorter, so around 12 ft. That also makes sense, as Ripley's face was at about 9ft in the power loader, and the queen's face is about 3 feet lower than the top of her crown when it's almost horizontal. So, hunched over, 12 ft would be accurate. That means she would be about 1/3 rd taller than an 8ft warrior if the warrior was standing fully upright and the queen was standing hunched over, which is her normal posture. She didn't have a good body plan for upright walking and looked awkward like that, so I'm sort of surprised someone would go out of their way to make a 16ft full-size statue using the original molds and then pose her fully upright. But hey, they did it, so we have a peak height for Her Majesty.
I managed to get the Hiya Avp queen a year ago none battle damage she's a really good figure but. I agree she should be bigger, hands and arms should be large and a bit longer with. More bulk on the arms and personally head should get a bit of a redesign but that's because i like accuracy. The hot toys one looks more accurate to the film version to me. Personally i plan to get the Hot toys version soon very hard to find though.
I got it through proxy bidding on Yahoo Auctions, japan using buyee.jp. look up Hot Toy "AVP Snap Kit Series". I got the whole avp set together, all measuring around the same size as hiya's figures. I did an episode about the proxy bidding process if you are interested. th-cam.com/video/1SzSdiYYkok/w-d-xo.html
Yes, she was part of the avp snap kit line. The figures are in roughly 1/18 scale, and come disassembled in small boxes... Technically they made two Queens if you count the "Cosbaby" figure. Someday I hope they re-release the 1/6 power loader along side an in scale queen.
I have the queen from Aliens. The back spines were a pain in the ass to insert, and the jaw is a little crooked but the details and paint work on it are awesome. Set her up with a drone, Big Chap and Giger's Alien book for nice display.
The quality control was better on the original queen, all the joints moved freely and weren't warped...but those spines were just awful to put in. The avp queen is built like a tank, but the paint applications are a bit of, and the joints aren't built for dynamic positions (especially the arms).
I can get one right now for next to nothing but it's too small. I have neca aliens and if I pose them right they look decent next to a 6th scale predator. Alien queen? yeah forget about it, She is going to be shorter than the necas lol. Edit: I still might get it lol just not have it next to wolf.
All of the Hiya figures are small, they look right next to standard 1/18 g.i. joe figures. They are desktop display items, or maybe good for small dioramas. I would kill for a 1/6th Queen though.
"Sorta like a demonic cockroach." Lmao

Oh my God, someone finally noticed it

Great video, my fav is prob AVP one

I could have sworn the original Queen prop was black with an oil-slick like paint job with a mixture of subtle colors.
Blue/black, dull gold, but in the film it looks black. Just the lighting.
very cool video, I was hesitating between the 4 queens, continue with this quality!
WOW! i love that nightbreed mask!!

This was a badass vid review!! 🙌
Do these figures age well if cared for properly? I’m only collecting the queens and wanna know if their worth it

I think these figures should match what we saw in the movies, not the actual prop that was used.
Where did you get your HT AvP Queen? I can't find anything about one on google.

@@strangeform thanks. When I searched up HT AvP Alien Queen I just got the McFarlane and Hiya Toys AvP Queens.
@@strangeform quick question, does the Queen have any actual articulation or is it more of a stand and look nice kind of thing?
I think it has some articulation but more of a statue like piece still.
I prefer the brown color of the xenomorphs it gives more of a insect feel
Love your videos
Thanks! Glad you like the. New Alien episode next week.
I like the alien queen from avp and would like a larger one of her
The video is very good, I like it very much, especially I am a fan of aliens.
Hottoys made an alien queen?

Between the two AVP Queen, which figure do you prefer? Regular or battle-damaged?
Always loved battle damaged figures. Better sculpt and painting plus they look awesome
The presentation and production value of each video is topnotch! Better work on your thumbnail tho.
Disney Princesses
Ha, Or evil Queens as newt's story is pretty Disney (you know, being an orphan and all.)
Thanks for the video! How would you rate them if you only took quality control of articulation and fragility into account?
The quality control was better on the original queen, all the joints moved freely and weren't warped...but those spines were just awful to put in. The avp queen is built like a tank, but the paint applications are a bit of, and the joints aren't built for dynamic positions (especially the arms).
Wich one is the tallest at the end of the video? I’m confused

These are all nice but they needa be black. You can always paint them thought.
