Great video, my only comment would be, that I use a separate flux paste which always ensures a better liquid flow of solder than just relying on flux cored solder alone.

I could have done with this video 32 years ago lol as I burnt myself every time I soldered 🤣. Wow your solder cost more than my soldering iron did 🤣.
I was lucky enough years ago to find a massive spool of solder on an industrial site I worked on, that was 20 years ago and it doesn't seem to have gone down any. Probably got 150 years worth 🤣🤣
Great video for the younger generation who are just starting out 👍👍

@@patrickbeckrc2113 follow an electrician and wait for them to forget to put it in their bag after they've finished the job🤣🤣🤣. I've just checked and it's 5kg and I've probably used 100g 😁 so some left still🤣🤣👍

I too had a soldering iron mishap as a kid. I left the thing on all night and the tip had melted the handle / housing to mush but it was still working no fire as was on a concrete block but I never got given new one so for year was using this strange melted blob as a soldering iron

Nice video Patrick, do you use lead-free solder or just normal lead/tin solder?, because I think lead-free needs
higher temps so it may not be as popular with RC?

Hi Steve, I think the rc solder I use is not lead free!

Do you use copper or aluminum wires?
