Sounds more like later 60's, like 'Steppenwolf' at times (and maybe early-to-mid 70's Glam, perhaps early 'J. Geils Band') but NOT anything like Hair Metal. I mean, doesn't sound like 'Twisted Sister' or 'Quiet Riot' or anything that awful!).

"Cheyenne Rider," "Black Box" (although 'The Morlocks' version was more intense, moody) and the trippy, "Charlotte's Remains," are probably the standout tracks on, "IN HEAT."

They sound and look like a fucking hair metal band from the 80's. It doesn't seem the same band of lysergic emanations

I love the fuzztones but what he said is sooo true. I remember buying the "In Heat" LP in 1989, I was 14 and two years before I fell in love with them after buying lysergic emanations. When I got home and put the record on the turntable I was in shock... it really sounded like hair or glam metal at some point. I mean... do you think that THAT is how the drums of a garage band should sound??? so compressed??? I think 80% of this was due to the production since this line-up sounded good live. Bu the only song that was half good was hurt on hold and it was a remake of cellar dwellar... even the style of the cover of the album was so wrong... they were not the fuzztones i loved and i was devastated.

@@ghostdog7575 I agree but sometimes things go wrong in the 80s and I don't remember much of anything but we booked them for us/some friends and had a great gig and spend a hard night with this warm and friendly people 13yrs ago...
