@@svengali5862 one of the reasons i say band is because seeing YL live really was important to me as a teenager. all elements of their live production are incredible, though I know it's basically just Trevor's project.

When I was 5 years old my dad chased me out of the house trying to whip me for yelling after my bully older brother pushed me down. I was so afraid I hid behind a door in the garage and watched while they looked for me. I stayed hidden for a long time. I finally went back inside after they had forgotten(?) about me. The last time my dad whipped me with a belt I was 17. Again the cause was my older brother. After daddy took out his frustrations on me I grabbed the keys to the family car and took off. When I went back an hour later I told him if he ever hit me again I would call the police. He just laughed at me. He was a deacon in our local church who had had a “born again” experience about the time I was 5.
As a fellow musician who grew up in Idaho - I have some true, mad respect for you Trevor. "Idaho Alien" is so relatable and I'm beyond stoked to see new releases coming.
It's really relatable for us Idahoans. Growing up artsy in Idaho makes you an alien, and going elsewhere, sometimes, you feel like an alien as a person who grew up here.
I just heard this song yesterday. I have listened to it over and over. I've been humming it. It has made me sad. It has made me happy. All you can ask of a song. Make you feel something.
Youth Lagoon is back
I love putting this song on repeat as I cook dinner while drinking wine. Ugh. Then the wine-drunk kicks in after half the bottle does down the hatch and I'm gone.
I was able to talk to Trevor after a show he played when he was doing his solo music and told him how much his music had helped me during some really sad parts of my life and has helped enrich me during happy times. This music helped heal me. I really am glad he is back. All love to this man ❤❤

I remember the first time I heard July when it came out and then seeing you play at the Blue Note in Columbia, Missouri before the release of Year of Hibernation. This song is fantastic and I'm so glad you're making music again. Your music has had a huge impact on my life and I'll forever be a fan.

this song is fucking awesome. i feel like it's a perfect combination of each of the other records - nostalgia of YOH, experimental atmospheric vibe of wondrous bughouse and a bit of the theatrics of savage hills ballroom. one thing is for sure, any YL song will be a storytelling masterpiece.

I swear not even like 2 months ago, actual literal tears were coming from my face because it wasn’t looking like anything new would ever come of this project, it was done and Trevor had moved on. I was mostly broken about the fact I had the chance to see YL live years ago in Boise and wasn’t able to go.
Seeing an event for a concert pop up on my Facebook yesterday made me cry again but this time for much happier reasons. I love this song so much and especially as someone who was born and raised in Boise (moved a few years back), and depressed my entire life , this song hits real good.

Incredible song and great to see this artist back with a modern twist. The backing, beat and loops are totally complimental. The 'Year of Hibernation' was totally genre breaking and had a great calmness across all the tracks on the album. Very rare I can buy an album which I can listen all the way through, so totally looking forward to a new album. I'd love to be able to play these songs on my food channel. Keep up the great work. The bit of Idaho I saw was awesome. From Lewiston to Lolo Hot Springs on Highway 12, in April. Very cold, very snowy, and a bit scarey, if Im honest. 2 Brits driving across America for the first time. Boy, were we glad to hit Missoula.
