Is this correct to say that "He walked towards the police station while the adverb "towards" is between the verb "walked" and object "the police station"? Please explain why? Thank you very much.... 🙂
Maam! At start you said, an adverb can not occure between verb and object. Look the sentence, He walked towards the police station. So, why towards is between object and verb here.
Is it grammatically (FORMALLY) correct to say : Penguins do definitely not live in the northern Hemisphere ✅❎..... In other words, can we put definitely between do & not? 🤔
Can someone brings me light about this example: "They have completely forgotten about our appointment" What happened there? The adverb 'completely' is between the main verb and its object, isn't it? Or the main verb in that sentence is 'forgotten' instead of 'have', or what?
Why is it not correct to say that "We went last year to Australia"? The adverb "last year" is really at the end-position in the sentence. It is not between the verb and object because the phrase "to Australia" as I know it is not an object. It is really a prepositonal phrase. Please could you explain why? Thank you... 🙂
A clause has a subject and predicate, sometimes it has meaning and it is called an independent clause. When it can not stand on its own, it is a dependent clause.

Is this correct to say that "He walked towards the police station while the adverb "towards" is between the verb "walked" and object "the police station"? Please explain why? Thank you very much.... 🙂
Walk, in this sense, is an intransitive verb so the word towards is correctly placed.
And it (towards) is a preposition not an adverb.
This lesson was interesting
