The devil is deceptive and makes you question everything you see. That's why Christians study the Bible so they know. So they KNOW what is true, but it takes years to get to that point.
@@razark9being saved is about many things. One of which is what the Bible calls "sanctification." In the process of sanctification, God shows us the areas of our life that we need to change. He shows us his ways and the foolishness of our old ways. In that process we learn about things like walking in the Spirit, freedom from sin, living in holiness and being clothed in the righteousness of Christ. For someone to claim to be a Christian and not think they even need to be sanctified says a lot about that person.

A large number of people who call themselves Christian are false converts. They have never truly humbled themselves before God and thus they are not truly saved, so they are making religious decisions, but those are heavily influenced by culture rather than the Bible as it should be.

100%, when churches closed that’s when I realized God was not in those buildings. I couldn’t find a single church within a 2 hour drive that didn’t go full dystopian for *years* after the 15 days… and I live in the state where a few churches had sued against the lockdowns and won at the state Supreme Court. As a result ALL churches in the state were explicitly exempted from any and all “public health measures” - and yet they ALL (except the few in the Deep South of the state that initially sued) complied anyway.

I literally had a friend who is looking to get back to Jesus tell me that she just can't find a church that accepts homosexuality. She lives in Ghana. I suggested that she should not look for issues like this but rather hope to find a biblical teacher
I find it challenging that we as Christians refer to this sexual sin as same sex "marriage". I believe the Biblical term is homosexuality. Our word choice shapes definitions, and I believe we need to stress sin aligned with how God defines it. Marriage is one man for one woman for one life. As only 2% of Christians regularly read the Word of God, I believe we need to edify the church with Biblical terminology to help each other in Biblical thinking.

God, and God alone, determines what is and isn't morally acceptable, what is and isn't sin. We do not determine what sin is for ourselves, nor is it determined by popular vote. And it certainly isn't determined by what is trendy or popular at the moment.
1 answer I DON'T see here: Because for the most part, pastoral leadership did not step up to the plate. They did not give their congregation rebuttals to "born this way" "you're supposed to accept everyone" "it's who I am" "you do you" and all the other messages. The congregation was BOMBARDED with cultural preaching from all their favorite TV shows about how they need to accept it, while churches rarely addressed the topic and never thoroughly. That was left to political pundits and online hotheads, contributing to the notion that only mean people are against it. And a lot of people's morality doesn't go beyond "nice" vs "mean".
While it is true that the pastors are to fault for not being true to the calling, but let me ask this... At what point do we stop playing the blame game and accept personal responsibility? Do we not all have access to the Scriptures to read and study them?

Like I said, a lot of Christians have bought into the "nice vs mean" definition of morality which is NOT Biblical. But many stayed grounded, stayed in the word, had hard conversations in their families... but only individuals. I hear way more bold Christian truth online than in the churches. The churches often give the vibe that it's a private matter that you can't speak negatively about, even if they have correct doctrine. And that silence leaves the faithful feeling like they're completely alone against the tide. Of course, they're not alone since God is with them. But we could help so many of our weaker brethren become strong and not fall into worldliness if we didn't publicly retreat from all these new cultural dogmas.
What day do you keep for Sabbath? What do you do on the other Six days? What is God's definition of "work"? what is God's definition of a "day", and Where is the proof? Do you know the names of the Risen Son, and His Father? Who are "othergods"? What are "idols"? Is your name in the Book of Life? You can be a devout Christian, and still not have your name recorded in the Lamb's Book. Don't be one of those. You gotta know the answers to these and many more questions.

Whilst media says they are reflecting society, part of that "reflection" is going trouble that "feedback loop", and that is the influence on society is amplified. You can see and hear the results through phrases, "jingles from advertisers", ideas, ideals, attitudes, and bad habits get into society." Gradually, these things take society down a very dark path, and as the feedback loop aids the input from the output, It can only get worse! There's no longer these volunteer "committees" to censor media anymore as all of the "clean" programs from the past- stories with morals and lessons to be learned -on television, that went out shortly after color came in! No more "Leave it to Beaver" (Gee, Wally, that's screwy!"

I remember when Obergafeld was on the docket and all these same sex attracted people made arguments like “we just want to be able to get on our partners life insurance.” Or “we just want to be able to visit them in the hospital.” “And marriage protects us in the event of a catastrophe. I just thought “why not call it a civil union and extend those perks to civil unions? Why do we have to call it a marriage. They don’t seem interested in a holy union. Just logistical issues.” And 9 years later… Christians are denied from being foster parents, children are being sterilized and same sex couples are demanding the right to have access to women’s uteruses and eggs so they can “have children.”

Bible is clear about the subject. You can deny it, but that doesn’t change the truth. Yes. Many people who claim to be Christian are not. The Bible clearly warns that in the last days there will be a great falling away and the love of many will actually grow cold. That false teachers will creep into the church and lead many (or most) astray. So that they will believe a lie instead of the truth. I pray for Christ’s return.
If I claim to be a Christian, a follower of Christ, why would I reject the very thing that Jesus said we should read, listen to and follow? The Bible provides examples of how to live well and how not to live well. It tells us that faith isn’t blind, it should only be given to those things that are proven truths. I think it is because millions of Christians celebrate our American political system as a gift given by God. If that is the case those Christians are certainly obligated to promote and participate in that system. I'm a high school student and my father was a minister and know he is a missionary, we live in Thailand and I've seen a lot of same-sex marage or transgenders. Most of my friends here don't believe Jesus and the Holy bible. So the way I found that why this is wrong is, in Korea education, it is necessary to teach students evolution so most of the students here believe evolution more than Creation which we believe it is fact. The first time that I said to my friends why I do not agree with same-sex marage based on the Bible, they didn't agree. So the next way was, we all studied evolution so I also found why same-sex marage shouldn't be accepted, so I explained them by based on the evolution, they agreed with me which is kinda sad but the next step, I tried to be close to them and now I'm trying to invite them to church. What I want to say is, evolution is one of the human's sin but if you use it to prove one thing is wrong, we can also say evolution is also wrong and Christianity is the only fact, but not in one step, having multiple steps might actually outcome a better conclusion
It's because it has become so widespread that just about EVERY family has at least one member of this persuasion. I know people that were friends for many years but now not any more. Not because they should be gay or I should happen to be gay but rather because SOMEBODY ELSE is gay. I'm not gay and the old friend is not gay, a relative of the old friend is gay and because I am not ' all supportive ' of them, then we are no longer friends.
You are right in that this is widespread, and it probably wouldn't be if the church was doing right... Had a situation arise at our church recently. A woman was "grooming" or attempting to groom others in the church. Well, she got into a snit because the pastor preached against homosexuality and then the accusations begin to fly. Next thing we know, she is "engaged" to another woman from the church and they ended up leaving the church to spread rumors around town. Were these two women Christian? Well, that is their claim but the fruits of the tree does not pan out that way. Friendships were destroyed through all of that.
Even if we disagree with the LGBTQ people we must still show love and compassion toward them. Jesus got onto the religious/hypocritical crowd more than he got onto the lost people
My EDWJ Reading today had the answer. Col. 2:19. The Apostle Paul wrote, "He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole Body ----grows. " When we listen to 'eminent' Pastors, Elders, Teachers etc, who have lost their Connection with the Head, then many are led astray.

I am a Born Again Christian and I believe that homosexuality is 100% wrong and that you cannot be a true follower of Christ and be in a homosexual relationship. However, I do not want the government being able to make the decision about anything having to do with religion. Can a homosexual really be married? No they can’t. I don’t care what a piece of paper says.
I, personally, am advocating for teaching creationism in public schools. Currently, we have a monopolistic approach to history and science. Students are being indoctrinated by liberal philosophy. No matter what is being taught, the choice is still the individual’s as to believe it or not. Public schools should be able to present competing views to allow students the most well-informed means to a conclusion.
The problem, of course, is that trying to teach creationism in science class is a violation of the establishment clause of the 1st Amendment, which has been confirmed by the judicial branch of the US government. Creationism can certainly be taught in places like world history and comparative religions, but _not_ in science.
There's definitely an apparent genetic factor that plays a role in it. Just the fact someone would willingly be bullied to the point of suicide rather than change is telling of the sincerity of the matter.
My personal take on this is because as culture changes it is so much easier to go with the flow then to fight against it. so, many Christians that are not strong will go with whatever the culture says.

In the process of sanctification, God shows us the areas of our life that we need to change. He shows us his ways and the foolishness of our old ways. In that process we learn about things like walking in the Spirit, freedom from sin, living in holiness and being clothed in the righteousness of Christ. For someone to claim to be a Christian and not think they even need to be sanctified says a lot about that person.
The Bible predicted the great apostasy before the end. So many hirelings behind pulpits in America. God forbid these preachers would preach lament, hardship, anguish, sacrifice, holiness…it’s all victory. I weep for the state of the church.
Especially churches like the Episcopal church, which favors globalism and women priests over Traditional Church/Biblical teaching.

100%, when churches closed that’s when I realized God was not in those buildings. I couldn’t find a single church within a 2 hour drive that didn’t go full dystopian for *years* after the 15 days… and I live in the state where a few churches had sued against the lockdowns and won at the state Supreme Court. As a result ALL churches in the state were explicitly exempted from any and all “public health measures” - and yet they ALL (except the few in the Deep South of the state that initially sued) complied anyway.

Unfortunately in my experience there are some “preachers “ who say that you can leave out certain parts of the bible because it’s not true/necessary anymore. 😢😢😢 It’s a sad world we live in.
Perhaps we should tell such "pastors" that their message is not true and their position is not necessary anymore because we have a high priest (Jesus). The Bible is not a buffet table where you pick and choose what you want to receive.
You hear its fine hundred times every day from TV, internet, radio, innschools, in workplace. We have main mass once a week and no one speaks about hot topics. I literally had a friend who is looking to get back to Jesus tell me that she just can't find a church that accepts homosexuality. She lives in Ghana. I suggested that she should not look for issues like this but rather hope to find a biblical teacher
I find it challenging that we as Christians refer to this sexual sin as same sex "marriage". I believe the Biblical term is homosexuality. Our word choice shapes definitions, and I believe we need to stress sin aligned with how God defines it. Marriage is one man for one woman for one life. As only 2% of Christians regularly read the Word of God, I believe we need to edify the church with Biblical terminology to help each other in Biblical thinking.
The term homosexual was first used in 1868. So the idea might be biblical the word is not. The English Bible says God created evil,Isaiah 45:7.
I keep hearing this one wife to one husband thing. Show me in the Bible where AlmightyGod says thou shall have only one wife.

Because for the most part, pastoral leadership did not step up to the plate.
They did not give their congregation rebuttals to "born this way" "you're supposed to accept everyone" "it's who I am" "you do you" and all the other messages. The congregation was BOMBARDED with cultural preaching from all their favorite TV shows about how they need to accept it, while churches rarely addressed the topic and never thoroughly. That was left to political pundits and online hotheads, contributing to the notion that only mean people are against it. And a lot of people's morality doesn't go beyond "nice" vs "mean".
While it is true that the pastors are to fault for not being true to the calling, but let me ask this... At what point do we stop playing the blame game and accept personal responsibility? Do we not all have access to the Scriptures to read and study them?
@krisgangwer3796 Yes, there are individual personal failings in the congregation involved. Like I said, a lot of Christians have bought into the "nice vs mean" definition of morality which is NOT Biblical. But many stayed grounded, stayed in the word, had hard conversations in their families... but only individuals. I hear way more bold Christian truth online than in the churches. The churches often give the vibe that it's a private matter that you can't speak negatively about, even if they have correct doctrine. And that silence leaves the faithful feeling like they're completely alone against the tide. Of course, they're not alone since God is with them. But we could help so many of our weaker brethren become strong and not fall into worldliness if we didn't publicly retreat from all these new cultural dogmas.

We should not conflate people who go to church with people who have been born again and are followers of Christ. Not all who call themselves Christian are. Matthew 7:21-23.

If I claim to be a Christian, a follower of Christ, why would I reject the very thing that Jesus said we should read, listen to and follow? The Bible provides examples of how to live well and how not to live well. It tells us that faith isn’t blind, it should only be given to those things that are proven truths. The evidence of things not seen. I trust the Bible over any other document.
Its politics, the world view is hugely effecting the minds of Christians, politics has become such a factor on peoples minds, the left sided people dont seem to be able to separate believe with policys. Well, that's my 2 sents anyway.
I think it is because millions of Christians celebrate our American political system as a gift given by God. If that is the case those Christians are certainly obligated to promote and participate in that system. The problem is that the entire American political system is predicated on the “ideal” of compromise. Millions of Christians are literally proud of themselves when they give in.
I'm a high school student and my father was a minister and know he is a missionary, we live in Thailand and I've seen a lot of same-sex marage or transgenders. Most of my friends here don't believe Jesus and the Holy bible. So the way I found that why this is wrong is, in Korea education, it is necessary to teach students evolution so most of the students here believe evolution more than Creation which we believe it is fact. The first time that I said to my friends why I do not agree with same-sex marage based on the Bible, they didn't agree. So the next way was, we all studied evolution so I also found why same-sex marage shouldn't be accepted, so I explained them by based on the evolution, they agreed with me which is kinda sad but the next step, I tried to be close to them and now I'm trying to invite them to church. What I want to say is, evolution is one of the human's sin but if you use it to prove one thing is wrong, we can also say evolution is also wrong and Christianity is the only fact, but not in one step, having multiple steps might actually outcome a better conclusion
Christians don't teach people to live in sin. That would be false teachers.
Homosexuality is wrong just like every other sin. It’s the same as lying, hatred, etc.

I know people that were friends for many years but now not any more.

You are right in that this is widespread, and it probably wouldn't be if the church was doing right... Had a situation arise at our church recently. A woman was "grooming" or attempting to groom others in the church. Well, she got into a snit because the pastor preached against homosexuality and then the accusations begin to fly. Next thing we know, she is "engaged" to another woman from the church and they ended up leaving the church to spread rumors around town. Were these two women Christian? Well, that is their claim but the fruits of the tree does not pan out that way. Friendships were destroyed through all of that.

I think we need to define what a Christian is.

Then they are not Christian.

My EDWJ Reading today had the answer. Col. 2:19. The Apostle Paul wrote, "He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole Body ----grows. " When we listen to 'eminent' Pastors, Elders, Teachers etc, who have lost their Connection with the Head, then many are led astray.
If it was ok in Biblcal times to have many wives and sex slaves, then it is not so outrageous that two people who love each other should make a commitment to each other. What is sinful is for anyone to decide for themselves.
Just stop. Stop justifying disobedience. And stop trying to use the Scriptures to promote and condone what God has outright called an abomination. Sin is sin. It is a clear transgression of God's laws. Love? No, unnatural desire and lust is what that is. God gave them over to their lusts because they refused to follow after righteousness.

He always had two sites up on the office computer. One was some social site from his church where they gave each other blessings. The other was a porn site. The double standard is so extreme that it is comical.

Because the majority of Chrstians aren't fundamentalist extremists and they support the freedom of other people even if they might disagree with their choices.

I am a Born Again Christian and I believe that homosexuality is 100% wrong and that you cannot be a true follower of Christ and be in a homosexual relationship. However, I do not want the government being able to make the decision about anything having to do with religion. Can a homosexual really be married? No they can’t. I don’t care what a piece of paper says.
I, personally, am advocating for teaching creationism in public schools. Currently, we have a monopolistic approach to history and science. Students are being indoctrinated by liberal philosophy. No matter what is being taught, the choice is still the individual’s as to believe it or not. Public schools should be able to present competing views to allow students the most well-informed means to a conclusion.
The problem, of course, is that trying to teach creationism in science class is a violation of the establishment clause of the 1st Amendment, which has been confirmed by the judicial branch of the US government. Creationism can certainly be taught in places like world history and comparative religions, but _not_ in science.
I will never support it.
Being gay is not something to be chosen, it is how you are born, and so why did he make some people like that if it is supposedly wrong in his eyes?

There's definitely an apparent genetic factor that plays a role in it. Just the fact someone would willingly be bullied to the point of suicide rather than change is telling of the sincerity of the matter.

My personal take on this is because as culture changes it is so much easier to go with the flow then to fight against it. so, many Christians that are not strong will go with whatever the culture says.

@@weldonpinder7295 The second one. The bible came from men writing down the commonly told stories of the region. And there are only two commandments that are laws most anywhere in the world, the one against murder and the one against stealing.
