A good quality, well adjusted chain makes them so much better to ride.
    Best wishes, Dean.

It does. When the chain goes slack it is a total Sunbitch to ride.
      Regards.

I would link end of new one to the begging of old one and pull

Yes that is a practice if they are hard to get to the front sprocket. The multistrada was not bad to just thread through. Good tip though. Thanks for the comment.

Very nice! I put a gold D.I.D chain on my 1098 and you are correct, there’s no comparison between a Ducati chain and a good aftermarket chain from Japan. Soooo, much nicer.

Yes absolutely. I was always adjusting the Duke chain & this one was way less stretchy.

G'day Stevie. Nice work on the chain replacement mate. The last road bike I owned was a Kawasaki Z1000 2014 naked. I sold it sometime back now.
Not sure if you know, but I lost my brother last year due to a motorcycle accident (killed instantly). So as you can imagine , my love of motorcycles has now sadly dissolved. Stay safe out their mate. Cheers mate, Aaron

Hello Aaron. I also had a Z1000 sx before this bike. I lost a bit on it to swap for this one . The reason was that we go over the moors a lot & the Kawi was a bit hard on my Bum. So i bought this which i can adjust to any terrain as i ride. I am sorry you lost a family member. That is very sad mate. A little story. I did a lot of contract work for a company called Nestle the food people. One fitter there was hell bent on getting his bike licence due to seeing all the different bikes i rode to work on. He booked his licence test. I woman at work said to him in the Cafe one morning. I had a dream you had a bike crash. He cancelled his test & took it no further. It spooked him. 1 year later he died of some pancreas cancer. Not sure where the story goes but it is difficult to quantify.
I since being of riding age have lost a lot of friends due to accidents. Some (most on bikes ) & some in cars. Most through riding & driving stupidly. I just try & take care with what i do. These days i am much slower than i was . I guess i am lucky to be still around to enjoy the open air. Take care Aaron.
      Regards .
      Steve.

I see 2 new shop projects in your future! A 5/8 chain top link installation clamp, and a pivot pin riveting tool... ;)

Haha I doubt it when i can borrow them from a family member. Actually the last time I changed a chain was way back , like 50 years or more.

Ducati uk forum which is the 1 your are using there are a few direct ones .I used the gauge to measure my chain before mot and they said it was too tight it was in touring and normal height. I have just purchased RK xring my original chain is a Regina rusty ducati 1 8000miles ,Great video cheers

There has been many threads on the Multi chain. If the bike is a Skyhook model it sometimes pays to sw ign on to get the bike to right height. When ign is off the suspension will not move. As in it goes solid. Hope it all works out well.

    Very helpful video - thanks.
Do you think it matters if you adjust the chain when raised or on the ground?
Owners manual says it should be on the ground. May not matter - just curious.

A good question. I did ask this same question at the main dealers when they were servicing my bike around 3 years ago. One guy said . Book says side stand. Other guy said does not matter. I asked the guys at the desk & was told on the Skyhook it does not matter because when the ignition is off, The suspension is locked so cannot move up or down. I can verify that. If i sit on my bike & switch ign on the bike sags down to it's preset mode height.
Not sure about the none S model as it does not have the Skyhook, so maybe different.
      Regards.

@Steviegtr well that's interesting about suspension locking out. I'll need to test that on my V2S. Which I presume is the same electronic suspension?

@@IanH-UK Yes it's caught me out a few times when getting on the bike on ulevel ground. In that i mean i can hardly touch the ground. Take the bike off the stand & sit on it. Now sw on the ignition & see what happens.
      Steve.

Very true MJK. I am fortunate in that i am twice divorced & now lodging at my ex wifes house with no strings. So can do what the f--- I want & i do. With the previous wife ,(much younger than I) she led me down the garden path. Luckily i am no longer with her. She had her nice side , but a very bad side too.(control freak). I often wonder if i should pack in biking due to old age, But keep coming up with the conclusion of stuff it. I love riding & have done since i was 13 years old. It's in the blood i guess.
      Regards.
