My first hunting dog , Wicca, was a Vizsla purchased from Dr. I.S.Osborn, back in the mid 1960’s. I am now 79, and my hunting days and hunting dogs now past. Wicca ‘s first litter was 12 beautiful pups, I went on to raise Viszlas for many years, hunting them , such beautiful hunters , loving them all along . Thanks for the opportunity to say thanks for the many fine hunts we went on over the years, and all the love they returned to me ❤
I was 19, now 53 and 5 dogs latter. Next weekend we’re travelling nearly 5 hours to hunt quail for 2 days, I can’t wait.

4y ago we got our first Vizsla. Same story! The sedan was traded in for a truck, obtained my first hunting license, long range rifles and ARs were moved to the backburner for shotguns, and 1y ago added another Vizsla to our pack. I couldn’t imagine owning another breed

We rescue old female Viszlas...these dogs are ESPECIALLY LOVING, AND "VELCRO" themselves to you. Kind, smart, sweet...truly the MOST LOVING BREED!!

Just got my 1st Gsp pup last week. I’m so excited for this fall
I have a Gsp while he isn’t trained for hunting he sure shows us that’s what he wants to do and the first time I saw him on point was awesome.
What do you say to your bird dog when he gathers and retrieves three quail in his mouth at once on only his second game bird retrieve at one year old? He returned, and sat in front of me with a mouthful of birds and feathers, grinning ear to ear. He knew he had done good. I had never heard of a multiple retrieve. I was so shocked... I couldn't even say, "Good boy." I sure miss him.

I've been lucky enough to have had 2 old bloodline Vizslas and yes they are a breed that stirs passion and gifts joy.
I sold all my dirt bikes and gave up all my hobbies to Be able to take 3 months off every year to hunt with my dogs.

I'm on my first hpr dog a gsp. 6months old and coming into his own. Lovely little guy.
My love is gsps. Wouldn't change a thing. Currently have three.
I still remember the sharptail my dad shot over my lab at 10 weeks (pointed by my friends gsp), mirrored a year later when he took the first bird over Guinness, another sharptail. Dad's gone now but the love of that dog, and that dog himself, remain as a little part of him and our friendship.

You’re lucky that you had good mentors to encourage you. I’ve found it hard to find folks to share their knowledge. I now try to share what little I know with those around me that even show a little bit of interest. You can learn a lot from books, articles and videos but it doesnt compare to life experiences. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I understand the before and after too. OK, it was a GSP not a Vizla. Vizlas were not common in Australia 40 years ago. So 8 GSPs and 3 Weis later , we managed to learn how to field train them along the way, the 40 year hunting journey with my husband has been wonderful ,we love all the utility breeds and still enjoy them in retirement.Great video, thank you.

I hunt with Vizsla for 8 years now it's like she is speaking to me....I had 2... one 8 year old and one 3 year old...this season a wolf ate the younger one...this year I'm gonna buy two vizsla puppies if I manage to find any because there aren't many here in Greece....amazing dog's
