I had a wonderful labor and epidural experience but unfortunately after birth, I ended up hemorrhaging and needing extra care and time in the hospital. It was so surreal and life has been so much more meaningful with her here in our arms. We are so blessed to welcome our baby girl Vivian into this world.

I’ve had 3 babies in 3 years and have had 3 very different experiences. My first was an induction like yours. I wasn’t dilated or anything when I went in. I had to do cervix ripeners overnight before starting pitocin and I had an epidural. My last one, my water broke before contractions and my labor stalled and I had to have pitocin for that one and I delivered without an epidural at all. I definitely prefer the epidural for the delivery but the recovery without was so much easier. I’m so happy for you and your family. Every birth is incredible and beautiful and uniquely yours. Babies are such blessings. Congrats! 🎉

3:57 I was induced with my 2nd and had 2 rounds of the cervical softeners as a start off (no contractions nothing) then they broke my waters at 8:30am and he was out at 9:59am, no pain relief but I went from a 5.5-6 to 10cm in that time and baby being out. The pain was so intense but I was so pleased when it was over 😂.

I did want to say contractions with Pitocin is a lot harder than naturally I did it both ways and I would take it naturally 10xs over versus with pitocin . That’s just how I feel.

6 hours of sleep?! Are you not nursing ?? I just had number 4 on the 17th but she nurses every hour and a half and our hospital most definitely does not take babies in the nursery for parents never heard of that !

I wasn’t able to nurse the first night due to hemorrhaging so she ate formula at the hospital and yes we are lucky that our hospital has a nursery! She is exclusively breastfed now though and i sure don’t get 6 hours anymore 😂🤍

They do it at our hospitals, but our hospitals follow the Baby-Friendly-Iniciative. I think thats where hospitals are more willing to help Mamas if they see exhaustion. Ours doesn't really mention it unless they see Moms are exhausted, I typically decline, but that's just a personal choice. Our hospital has been gradually getting more and more into the BFI method over the years, I'm on baby 5 in 6 years and have noticed them being more open to things like this.
