- In this video I fixed an Otari MX5050 Reel to Reel recorder that belongs to a friend. It turns out, someone spilled a Coca Cola into the top of the unit when it was owned by a Radio Station. It was saved from their dead gear room. Now I know why it was free! What a mess.
A reel to reel with a previous cocaine habit. Glad it make a complete recovery after some detox therapy. 😅
Man, that comment made me laugh! Thank you!
Really cool. Nice work
Thanks!!
Techmoan vibes are high in this video.
I love that guy! I need to check out his channel again. I've been off line for a while.
The most coveted format of the pre-digital era.....nice.
My Otari Mtr-12 needs caps etc. upgrade, please let me know if you are interested.
Brian!
Bryan! But all similar names work like Byron, Brain, and especially Dinner! Thanks!
@@EpicenterBryan lol dammit I spelled your name wrong, sorry. It’s good to see you though.
@@BellofattoBrews Just messing with you. It's all good!
@@EpicenterBryan I know again it’s good seeing you

Nice find , book'em Danno!
Root beer 🍻🍻
You didn't think you were going to get anything common did you? GOOD fix and 10-4 on the Berkey and Water-pick!
Brilliant!
Oh my gosh! This is terrific! I think it is a great video showing your ability to think and work outside of the box to solve a problem. I would NEVER have thought of flushing, water picing and using that dehydrator like you did. Inspirational. I would have never thought this equipment could have been salvaged. What a treasure! It is so good to see you again. ~Sharon from Florida
I wouldn't mind videos outside the norm, if only because it means keeping the channel alive
Can you do a review of the mountain house adobo rice and chicken? I’ve been curious about that flavor and don’t think you’ve reviewed that one yet.
What Vacuum Oil brand do you Use? And What timing do you use on your oil filter timer?
Hello, We have an approximate five-year-old Freze Right machine, I need a wiring schematic. Obviously, FR has ignored three requests for a printed copy. Can you help or direct me to where I can locate one? Thanks.
Just curious, did they ever send you one? I really doubt they would. It looks like just a simple 2-sided board so it wouldn't be all that hard to trace it out and make a schematic. Certainly a lot easier to get one from the manufacturer though.
Must FYI for possible future use: I was tech support manager for a broadcast electronics manufacturer and we would use Simple Green and a soft toothbrush to clean boards after removing them from the machine, then rinse with water. Let dry thoroughly; you can use a low pressure air compressor as well. Be careful especially of coils and anything else delicate.
Water Pik seems to work well, too. (We didn't have one!)
Nice work. Were you worried about oxidation from the water?
My otaris only drink Pepsi
ugh that stuff will give your RTR cancer
wow, I guess watering down the board isn't a risk for shorting huh?
Should really use deionized water... and obviously let it dry 100% before reinstalling.
