i love how they made a sane character that isn't an absolute buzzkill or some comedy punch bag, she is a genuine fish out of water person who is actually likeable and relatable
I feel that Rider is like the character that both sees things from the audience’s point of view and speaks for them. She’s the only sane character around here. It must be hard being the sane one, especially when you’re surrounded by idiots and lunatics.
@@the_demon149 Ok good. I certainly wouldn't want anything to do with a thing like that. I feel like that Becky Apples would push her off a cliff and not give a damn.
Becky Apples is also what Horse THINKS Rider wants at the start of the show. A serious, unfaltering warrior that in no way resembles two beachballs. She's the Doom Slayer of horses, and I really wish we got to see her travel to Centuarworld, be granted the power of speech, and STILL remain completely silent.
I remember when she first transformed and I was like “nooo her beautiful perfectly shaded hair it’s gone it’s pink and fluffy now and I’m sad she was so pretty and detailed and-“
@@zulius7707 I might be remembering things wrong, but I thought the former…queen? The woman the Nowhere king was in love with was in Centaurworld for years when we first meet her, and all that changed was her hair.
Yeah. The Woman’s lived in CW for easily a few decades (since wammawink’s the oldest herd member with Durpleton and Stabby in their 40s, and the minotaurs murdered her village when she was a kid.) And well. Woman effectively trapped herself on the CW side when she tried to deal with the Key (and force a ceasefire caused by her lover splitting himself into a narcissist and genocidal maniac who both used their -obsession- “love” as their Justification for hurting everyone since they couldn’t hurt eachother…) Which. It’s possible that Rider will have more transformations-transformations are visually synonimous with Self-Acceptance and/or which World they affiliate with/choose. Woman was essentially trapped in a limbo, unable to move on, thanks to her “lover” forcing her to caretake HIS warcrimes and self-mutilation. But she still transformed a bit since she truly did care about CW and HW and wanted to protect the worlds. Horse transformed much faster, but over the course of weeks as she gradually learned to accept her Herd, CW, and herself outside of a war-context. Stabby may or may not have transformed (full body) at the same rate as Horse or even slightly faster-but Stabby’s Arc was more a background one of feeling safe and loved and being rehabilitates…but also Finally making himself acknowledged and heard. Rider in comparison is the most adaptable and accepting. She’s weirded out by the Herd, but quickly rolls with it and accepts them. The only time she has a crisis of faith and reverts to Human World Roles Logic was when Horse basically told her that the General (her idol and who allegedly kept her *safe* (well. Safeish) was literally the devil. She also instantly regretted it. So Horse choosing to stay, Rider liking CW and the Herd well-enough, and well. If Horse wants to stay, and Rider wants to stay with Horse, (and the war’s finally over)…Why Not CW. So Rider starts to transform (hair first. Like Horse.)
It depends on if she embraces Centaurworld as a part of herself. As the Elktaur shows, even centaurs that don’t accept themselves can maintain a human world art style.
I think its really interesing narrativley that Rider's hairstyle is like the General's. Rider and The General mirror eachother similar to how the Elk and Horse do.

Oh Rider, after 2 Seasons I can confidently say: They are Centaurs, they need no sense.
Quite true. This show was like Centaur School. I now know their behavior and usual daily life. Lol
