@@jdunnatl I'm sure they need near constant attention & care, and surely it would be absolutely CRUEL to leave such a social, active, intelligent creature locked in a cage, or room, ALONE all day, if you have to work. Probably like having a child that never ages beyond 2-4 & never, eventually starts going to school,,,MAJOR commitment.They sure are adorable, comical & fascinating, though!🙈🙉🙊💕

This is just so much proof that if a monkey is brought up well with love, manners and respect they become the most beautiful creatures ! I have never even seen a child be as gentle, curious and adoring as I see monkey Boo here ! Just beautiful ! Or maybe it's nothing to do with his rearing maybe it's just monkey Boos personality or should I say monkeyality! What do people think ??!

I love this 3yr old video. I had to view it again inlight of the newest news yesterday of MonkeyBoos baby brother named Happy. I sure Boo will treat his new brother just like this. Congrats 🎉
Awww I love how Boo was petting him and loving him and be gentle but playful with him so cute! I also loved when the baby woke up and Boo noticed it was so adorable I really want a monkey like this when I'm older, I also plan to be a vet or work at an animal shelter when I'm older honestly just a place where I can be with animals. I lost my dog two years ago to old age, this changed my life and I realised how precious life was I just wish to this day I could have spent more time with him even just 1 more second,minute hour or day just 1 more, to me he wasn't just family or an animal he was my best friend and I miss him so much. I was the last person he looked at before he was put down but it was the best we could do for him i love him so much he was a border collie cross kelpie and lived till age 15 he was put down 7/3/15. Honest I'm not trying to get likes or views or subscribers but his story is on my channel called RIP Chucky I hope u guys like it. Ilysm. Chucky RIP my little man
For all curious, like I was. Lipsmacking is something capuchin adults do to greet an infant and reassure that it's not bring aggressive. Like say "hey little guy what's up". Also, the tongue sticking out. This is a gesture to show affiliation. Sometimes a submissive gesture but more f a greeting and reaffirmation that "hey, I'm with you". The fact that he baby does it is interesting. Early in their lives babies will mimick what they see, and in this case is basically just copying Boo. It's literally "monkey see monkey do"! So there ya go. I did a LOT of reading today, determined to figure that out.
I'm really curious of one thing - dies Boo pee on his hands and/or mark any territory? He isn't in a diaper (which I applaud) so I assume toilet trained? This gets asked a lot but I don't think Pete has ever said.

Monkeys don't pets
I keep saying--Pete is the most responsible monkey companion I've seen. On the whole I am against the cruelty of captive breeding and removing a few days' old monkey from it's screaming, panicked mother's arms as she keens in a cage for days. Then do it again and again and again until she finally gives up, knows she won't get to keep in and curls up on her own as if she wanted to die. She is a "breeder monkey" with a caged life. Pete did his research--He chose the smartest, most sociable monkey. He devoted ALL his time to Boo, providing him with constant stimulation, love, and freedom to be a monkey. Boo was never shut up in a cage for hours to grow bored, frustrated and mean. Pete provided him a huge variety of outdoor and indoor experiences and a family to adore him. He socialized him with people and other monkeys and experiences. He knew that the breed is so smart it cannot tolerate boredom, so he engaged with Boo from everything from experimenting with new foods, tactile games, carpentry, hiding things for Boo to go look for, puzzles for him to figure out, and always always positive teaching, never losing his patience. Boo has play dates, interaction with other monkeys and animals, a constant variety of activities, and the security of a family who loves him and is a constant source of affection and security. It's a full time job and it will remain so for the next 30 + years. Boo never threat-displays, never opens his mouth in that "smile of fear," and they say it's impossible to raise a monkey without being bitten, and I assume this has happened off camera because monkeys bite. I don't know how Pete could even have a job because 8 or 9 hours away from his troop, Boo would be a frustrated, screaming, shit-throwing monkey and he's just not. And you have to commend Boo for being able to bridge 2 worlds. When he encounters other monkeys, he knows he's a monkey, and his life has such big parameters I would not call him "captive." If he lived with any other humans, he would have become violent and turned over to a sanctuary by now like 98% of purchased primates. People should know that Boo and Pete's relationship is next to impossible. I love that monkey! He is the most expressive, curious and happy little guy!
Ann that is so sad. I had no idea...not true...I knew but didn't want to admit what was the course of obtaining our "monkey friends". I've seen the videos, you can't un-see somethings in life. With that said, Pete is a great Dad to Boo. I don't know the circumstances as to how or why Boo came to Pete and neither do you. Don't judge. It's not your job.
D White I agree with U! They r wild animals & deserve to be with their own FREE kind. I don't know the situation but I feel if his life were in danger, he should be treated & once well be returned to his tribe.
Canines, felines, horses, birds, parrots, reptiles, rodents, fish even humans are wild animals do you take issue with any of these being taken from the wild and made to be pets? Think about that.
This monkey was abandoned and taken to a sanctuary. Wasn’t going to be in the wild. They aren’t near as free in the wild, anyway. Constant fear of predators. Constantly on the lookout for shelter or food or cover or concealment. Their lifespan is drastically lower in the wild
