Zion National Park is a breath-taking and iconic national park located in the southwestern United States, primarily in southwestern Utah. Established on November 19, 1919, it covers an area of approximately 147,551 acres and is renowned for its stunning red and white sandstone cliffs, deep narrow canyons, and diverse plant and animal life.
The park is best known for Zion Canyon, a 15-mile long and up to 2,640 feet deep canyon carved by the Virgin River. The towering sandstone cliffs on either side of the canyon create a dramatic and awe-inspiring landscape. Zion Canyon Scenic Drive provides stunning views of the park's landscapes. The park shuttle system operates during peak seasons to reduce traffic and offer a more sustainable means of transportation.
Zion National Park attracts millions of visitors each year who come to experience its unique geological formations, engage in outdoor activities, and immerse themselves in the beauty of this natural wonder. We visited Zion National Park as part of our trip to the west side of the USA during our Thanksgiving holidays. If you like mountains and hiking, this is a must-visit place for you.
