- This London breakfast has to be in my TOP 3 - it is simply off the charts.
The Regency Cafe between London Victoria & Pimlico serve the best breakfast. If you follow Darren John @DarrenJohn you will know it has to be quality every time.
Top 3 breakfast I have had - just look at those eggs
Service is fast & efficient and the food is hot when it's ready.

my wife took me here a few years ago, she used to use it when she lived in London back in the 70s 80s and always said we should go and have a breakfast there, we did and my god was it good. loved everything about the place.

That is correct
This reminds me of all the cafes that used to exist in this country. Breakfast used to consist of many items, like you said but we used to boil the potatoes and let them cool. We would then cut them into cubes and fry them at a high temperature and call them saute potatoes. Hash browns are an American invention and lots of people complain about them. Many people can't fry eggs today and mostly they remain raw on top so it's nice to see them cooked properly for a change. I worked into St. Pancras Railway Station in my BR days but I can't even recognise that anymore except for the outside shots in videos on YT. It looks more like a shopping centre now. We used to have about a three hour turn around time before the return journey but we wouldn't buy food in London because we couldn't afford to. Concentrating at speed is tiring for the driver and dealing with crime all the way to London is the same for us Guards, so we'd get a few hours to recover before the return battle. One driver always used to say "Let hostilities commence." just before we set off.
I'm sure it was tough, but the camaraderie in those days sounds great. Something that's missing in today's workplaces.
I’m actually loving how you had the best full English breakfast, and afterwards you showed the cast of Wicked on the advert, and it showed Gary Wilmot.

The whole plate looked fantastic but I can't think of the last time I looked at a plate and it was the chips that really caught my eye. Hand cut and chipped & double cooked, they looked perfect for a chip butty.

So hard to watch when you’re hungry! Looks amazing. Love the little winks and faces you make whilst eating. Leaves viewer in no doubt as to the quality

When I was in London in 2018 I stayed in a hotel by Victoria Station, great place! Breakfast looked off the charts!
That food looked well good and the little sightseeing trip was a nice touch too....

Nice one Darren, so pleased to see fried bread - a rare commodity these days, but so much better than hash browns, IMHO. Will try the cafe out when I'm next over that way. Cheers !

The Regency is a London institution. Mind you I can never get that scene from Layer Cake out of my head whenever I see it featured 😆

I live in the grim North West. Love, love, love London. Stayed at Ruben's at the Palace a few times but that was 20 years ago. There is so much to do and see and eat! Can't wait to go back.

Don't take this the wrong way but I loved the closing. Enjoyed the tour around Victoria for your tours are the only way I'll see London. Breakfast looked appetizing but more than I could handle.

Reminds me of a place i used to go to on Leytonstone High Street. Best breakfast i ever had, dont know if its still there but imagine it is.
Looked really nicely cooked, and good quality ingredients. I liked that you can choose the elements you wanted.
Chips for breakfast is a new one on me, but they did look good ! - Maybe I should try it some time !

I saw an episode of a BBC Northern Ireland comedy panel show (The Blame Game) in which they were poking fun at an Ulster Fry that came with chips. Some people will always resist progress. My daughter orders potato cakes AND chips...she knows.

Used to park my truck up for the night on horseferry road and go in the regency for breakfast before i set of back up north
Another smashing film. Thank you so much for showing Victoria as a good friend of mine was working at the BBC and was put up for 3 months in a small bedsit which lets say was not in the best order early 1990's. Just brought back so many memories as we visited the Regency a few times when i used to visit. Thanks again DJ.

Enjoyed this vlog particularly Darren. Great cafe and seeing those sights around Victoria took me back to 2019 and my last visit to London. This part of London is my favourite too as I have got to know the area well over various visits over the years.
