  • Today we mounted up a set of Mitas tires with Mousse Balls. These are the the M-2000 Big Soft Balls from the guys over at Mr. Wolf. The idea behind the Mousse Balls is that you can change the stiffness by adding more or less balls. The big, soft balls are their latest edition to the lineup of products. The mousse balls are an addition to the bib mousse market. They are a foam, flatproof and tuneable option for the inside of your dirt bike tires.
    We ended up running 18 balls in the rear tire and the full 26 up front.
    We installed this setup with dual rim locks for extra insurance.
    I hope you like the video.
    Cheers,

    When I met you at Moab hard enduro and I was doing photography, you mentioned you were going to start OF, didn’t think it was going to be a solo endeavor. Thought the pretty girl would be joining you😂 Plenty of lube is important when you’re getting balls deep in the tire change, also good to know you need to leave a gap for 2 fingers to slide in. You don’t want to be to stiff… and then you can mount it and hit the throttle until it goes waaaa waaaa waaaa waaaaaaa to get it right where you want. Lots of good knowledge in this video. One question, I don’t usually where a glove, is it acceptable to go raw? Keep the great videos coming, I think the algorithm is starting to push you😊

    Why are these any better than a bib mousse? Maybe tuneability right off the bat? I agree more lube can be better for install, but Slavens did a bunch of tests on how lube spread all around the bib's after just lubing the inside of the tire. He broke it all down after one ride and the bib was completely covered in the lube. I guess when you don't have to pay for anything (wheels, balls, lube) you can use as much as you want and get a laugh out of it. Being a Pro sure has its benefits...😂

      Great input and questions. They may or may not be better than a mousse, but they do bring something different to the market. I like being able to use used and new mouse balls to find a happy medium with "tire pressure". Tuneability off the bat is nice too.
      Valuable input about the lube. I am a lube machine and probably use too much, haha. Thanks for your input.

    Why mousse balls over a drilled mousse?

    • @MaxGerston
      @MaxGerston  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A drilled mousse works too. Mousse Balls provide the option to interchange new and used balls to adjust the overall stiffness. A mousse ball could be drilled if need be as well.
