You are the best lawman in the west. Stop. Crying is getting out of control in the east. Stop. Please help us. Stop. Probably the best set of lines I've heard from a cartoon in my entire life.
I miss the old boomerang. Honestly, I cracked a smile at "black is very trendy". I totally remember this as a little kid. I couldn't sleep so I would turn on boomerang. I miss these shorts
So the director of this- Mo Willems- is also the creator of Sheep in the Big City, and the “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus” book series. He was also one of the head writers on KND: Kids Next Door, as well.
@@thecraplordsell4575yes true. Since at least 2000 the flooded both cable and network with reality TV. TLC, Bravo, MTV,L. And more. The beginning of the end was over 20 years ago.
I've watched this since I was 5 or 7. Back then, I didn't quite understand the dialogue obviously cause I'm still small that time. Now, getting to see and hear this again now I get it and boy what a nostalgia rush.
Pov: You're at your grandparents' house. You're sitting on the floor watching boomerang, and this comes up for some reason. You have no idea what anyone is saying and don't understand what anyone is doing. Then, a decade and a half later, you find the same video and now have the Brain power of an intellectual. Watching it again, it feels different for some reason.
That was an quite interesting touch they did with Quick Draw and Baba Louie in terms of the designs, with making them look more like realistic horses as compared to their cartoony appearances in the original 1959 series. And yeah, even as a kid i knew this was done by Mo Willems because there was no mistaking that same distinctive animation style from The Off-Beats and Sheep in the Big City.
I think Phil Vischer did the voices for both Quick Draw McGraw and Baba Looey in this. Quick Draw sounds like Mr. Nezzer and Baba sounds like Mr. Lunt both from VeggieTales.
It's so bizarre that all of these Boomerang promos/shorts that I saw them SO MANY TIMES and loved them SO MUCH that I remember every sound effect in my head.
Very fitting since he now protects a city(Jellystone) from crime while dressed in black(Black Is Very Trendy!),CN really hired Mo Williems to do this little Quick Draw McGraw short before creating Sheep In The Big City and working as a writer on Codename:Kids Next Door.
"Black is very trendy!" That's my favorite part. The only complaint I have about this is Baba Looey's voice. I realize that the voice isn't going to be an exact match, but I think it needs a little work.
I know I’m 2 years late to reply, but you should see that Pixie Dixie and Mr. Jinks short. For the most part, they sound virtually nothing like their original 1958 counterparts.
Holy shit I’ve forgotten all about this short. I remember this being my favorite of them all. My brother and I would know some of the lines from the commercial. Hot damn, the nostalgia is strong with this one
Gotta love the meta narrative of these Shorties from the 90s. 30 years after these old cartoons aired and their tropes are fully recognized and joked about. XD
It's 2019 I never watched this on youtube and it feels like I watched this yesterday. Oh the magic of boomerang airing the same bumpers for it's entire time until that redesign and streaming service.
"Stoooopp" popped in my head a week ago and for the life of me i couldn't remember where it was from but i wasn't going to stop until i figured it out lol. Now its faved so i won't forget ever again
Phil Vischer does the voice of Quick Draw McGraw (using his Mr. Nezzer from VeggieTales voice) and Baba Looey (using his Mr. Lunt from VeggieTales voice).

New York city is a big city that is known for high crime. Plus, the message said that crime was out of control.
no? one of them had a knife on their back
What a trip, man. This is some real early 2000s Cartoon Network.

Isn't New York also part of the West?
EJ Elec Flame Tails No, it's in the east. It is actually as far east as possible, as it is literally on the east coast of the U.S.
Those were the captions

Old school boomerang was amazing. I cant believe all they show is the same stuff from CN all day.
so much stuff I didn't notice when I was little XD

“Black is very trendy!” Makes sense, he still wears black while protecting Jellystone from crime.
Loved this short as a child. I watched them on the old bommerang.
Stephen Flore R.I.P old boomerang you will be missed TeenTitans HeMan QuickDraw McGraw and Huckleberry Hound
RIP old Boomerang but they should bring this back

They do sound like them. That would be hilarious
Actually, Quick Draw McGraw was voiced here by Greg Burson. Don't know who did Baba Looey, though.
@@omanimoves6312 Or maybe Chris Phillips did Baba, because he might sound like Face from Nick Jr. a bit, then.
Baba Looey was voiced here by Scott Innes.
they might actually be the voices of veggietales. this cartoon was made in 2005 or 2008.
Considering Hanna-Barbera's style of limited animation, this is EXACTLY the kind of stuff they'd create!

The way the people are drawn reminds me of Sheep in the Big City.
Mo Willems directed this so the resemblance is obvious.

This was always my favorite. The animation is nice too. I wouldn't have argued against this being rebooted as a show now.
Keep in mind, this came out in the late 90s to the early 2000s, when NYC had, for much of the 1990s, actually reported a _drop_ in crime
Which was unbelievable to hear in that time.
I see this all the time on Boomerang. I like this show. xD
Is it Greg Burson, Scott Innes, Bill Farmer, or is it Jeff Bergman doing Quick Draw's voice?
Phil Vischer does the voice of Quick Draw McGraw (using his Mr. Nezzer from VeggieTales voice) and Baba Looey (using his Mr. Lunt from VeggieTales voice).
