Beth, we did it!! Was having a tough time for my best man speech. I bought her template and it relieved me sooo much. Even still I had issues and was stressing so I got the 1 hour one on one and we cleaned it up and it was tailor made to me. If anyone is struggling you can’t go wrong with either one… I can’t recommend enough.was so nervous leading up but I got so many compliments all night and the speech was only three minutes.

@@hagi2013 Welcome people, tell us how they met (always some kind of story there,) why they’re great together, how they were as parents, how you made their life as parents difficult (in a fun way,) how they’ve approached grand parenting and it differs from their parenting. Tell them you love them and why and then lead a toast. Hows that?!

I don't know him that well but they have been dating/living together for a long time. Is it ok, just to say Beau (name of future spouse) is already a member of our family? So the thing is I'm writing a speech for my mum's wedding and I've never really wrote one before. My mum and her fiancee haven't been together very long (not even a year) which they're quite self aware about so I was thinking of making a few jokes about that, how would you go about that though? Also any other tips for writing a speech for your mum's wedding would be much appreciated, thank you.
Even if it's for your mom, the outline in this video should be a good starting point. It's fine to make a gentle joke about how long they've been together, but keep in mind there can be a fine line between making a joke and coming across as passive-aggressive -- even unintentionally. My instinct would be that less is more on that subject. Maybe something as simple as "It's been a big year in our family!"
