I love that when Conan gets into his improv brain, he has a leg twitch and begins vibrating quickly. You can always tell when he's in the zone and firing on all cylinders.

Conan's parents and siblings have developed a fan following of their own over the years, despite us never actually having seen them... I think it's about time to bring them onto the podcast!
I have rewatched this segment numerous times, and laugh out loud EVERY time because I can relate to Conan's impression of himself - being the fifth of seven children and a particular and precocious kid myself.
I heard that one minute of laughter will extend your life by approximately 10 minutes; if that's true Sona will live at least 200 years

Conan's a truly humble and remarkable person, just by his admission that his brother was smarter, and is still smarter, indicates how he has very little ego - something a lot of other talkshow hosts could never do

I watched the vid recently that Mat is talking about, and what is amazing about that intro is how quickly Conan can change Sona's mood from pretty cranky, to laughing & happy. It was a joy to behold. Plus, the story from his childhood had me cracking up too. Great work guys 🙂

I listened to this on the podcast during work today and laughed until I cried. Conan’s humor is, was and always will be 💯

Conan is so good at whatever that is. I laughed so hard I couldn't get any air for a moment there.
I feel for Luke. I was bullied a lot as a child and as a teen, and on a few occasions I said stuff like that too. I knew they'd beat me 10x harder, but honestly at a certain point you're so disgusted and depressed after being subjected to non-stop assault and humiliation that you just stop giving a crap. If you can't defend yourself physically against a gang of bullies, at least you can use words, which given most bullies have an IQ of 70, it's not hard to turn their words against them. Yeah they'll beat you more, but they were already gonna do that, and at least you feel a bit better about making them seem dumb.
The prissy kid would be a great addition to the Hans/Frans movie.

believe it or not, amongst comedians, Conan is not recognized for the Comedic genius that he is, either because those guys hate him for his success or just write him off as a talk show host, but he is genuinely one of the most Quick witted comedians i have ever seen. and he's only getting better with age :)

@@lassolegenda if you listen to most comedians podcasts. they rarely if ever mention him in best comedians of all time, even if they're ranking talk show hosts. there is a general disdain that non-mainstream comedians have for mainstream comedians like conan simply because he is mainstream and he is successful. they feel like he is contributing to the mainstream comedy's health and they want nothing more than to see it burned down.
I don't believe Conan gets the recognition he deserves. Not only is he is one of the most influential comedians of his time, he is the most randomly hilarious person to ever walk the face of this earth. I friggin love Conan.
really? I've listened to several comedy podcasts like Dana Carvey's, Smartless, & WTF and, although maybe they aren't always singing his praises or putting him on a "Comedy Greats of All Time" type list, they all really express respect for him as a comedian and acknowledge that he's hilarious.

Man, ... whenever I'm feeling beaten down and depressed... I dunno, I am somehow always returning to these two bits, the "Picky Eater" one - and of course - to this one right here. It gets me every time he's doing that prissy voice. Those two bits are my metaphorical safe-words after a shitty day, like, getting me out of dark, gloomy places. Works like a charm... Speaking of "PAAATER": I would be genuinely curious, to see Conan's dad on the podcast (like, Lex Fridman for instance, who's inviting his dad to his podcast from time to time). Would be quite interesting to hear his account (especially about those penny-farthing chases😂), which would be one reason - but also, he strikes me as a pretty interesting fellow, what with him having this scientific background in biochemistry, but then also having to keep young Conan's antics in check and all that, LOL... Well... given, of course, he'd be willing to attend. Would be totally understandable, if he'd rather not do it (considerations concerning privacy and all that)... Anyway, that voice, man...
