    The Pearly Daddy is one of our most popular deadly fishing patterns, used equally throughout the season. Its gold head helps this fishing fly to sink deeper into the water column, where larger trout tend to swim. Fish this fly pattern in twitches to make the back legs pulsate, which grabs the attention of nearby trout.

    You are living the dream. Id love to get a following on TH-cam for tying. Huge fan of all the wings like this. Much love from the tributaries of Michigan!

    Love it. We don’t fish Crane Flies enough here in the US. Though I’ve never seen on that was green. I struggle to make legs but I’ve got to try that pattern. Also helps you using Indian Necks for the wings. Always hated using good hackle for wings. I keep watching and learning. Thank you so much.

    Thanks Davey , great pattern, I’ll tie a few up and give it a try on our lake towards late summer. I didn’t know Sid had died, very sad, he tied some great patterns. His goose quill buzzers in black, claret and particularly grey were very successful on Rutland water when I fished there in the late 80s and 90s. Happy New Year and thanks for the videos. Tight lines for 2023 👍

    Davie, thanks for showing me this fly. I have a feeling I will tie some up for crappie, bluegill and bass. I fish a few ponds in Boulder County Colorado that have some good fish and at times plenty of stocker rainbows. It’s called the Pella Crossing open space, some of the county property used to be a private fishing club. You can find it on Google Maps! By the way I have checked out your spots in Scotland on Google Maps and imagine fishing there some day. Happy New Year!

    Have you made a video on how to make those spider legs? I will keep looking through your pkaylist to try to find a video on this. Those are just some super cool realistic looking legs, better than buying some plastic version in my opinion.

      Hi Paul,
      Happy New Year..
      I have made a couple of videos on making these legs but the easiest I feel is to use a crochet hook, so I have attached a link for you to see...

      @DavieMcPhail  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Finns Biavl,
      I mostly buy them already tyed and the ones in the video came from a wholesale company called Veniards though there's other companies that do them as well if you look around...I also make my own when I need them so I have attached a video I made on what I feel is the easiest and quickest way to do them .. .th-cam.com/video/LHUM8FBQPdk/w-d-xo.html

    That's a brilliant fly. So, effectively a drowned daddy. How would this be best fished?

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Duofold,
      I did a quick search online on how this pattern can be fished so I have copied and pasted below for you to see and it reads just how I would fish it myself and how I have seen it being fished so I would certainly recommend tying some..I'm glad you liked it..

    Very nice fly. How would you fish it?

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dominique,
      I personally have never fished this fly myself though many would recommend fishing it like a small fish pattern or even targeting fish working in a area by inducing a take by dropping it close to the fish allowing it to drop and then twitching it back as it seems to take their interest when everything else has failed..I would certainly fish it in as many ways that I can just to see what would happen..
      All the very best Davie
