Dangote Faults African Visa Restrictions + Nnamdi Kanu Calls FG Lawyer A ‘Terrorist’ | W/OjyOkpe

  • The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu, caused a frenzy at the federal high court in Abuja on Monday, after his bail request was denied.
Kanu has been in detention over alleged treasonable felony. While reacting to the ruling, Kanu, who was visibly angry, accused the federal government of violating the constitution, and other international treaties following his forceful rendition to Nigeria.
He also called the prosecution counsel, Gboyega Awomolo a ‘Terrorist’ for conducting a trial in violation of the international treaty.
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has faulted travel restrictions for African investors, travelling across the African continent.
Dangote spoke at the Africa CEO Forum Annual Summit in Kigali Rwanda, stating that he has to apply for 35 different visas on his Nigerian passport to travel within Africa, meanwhile a french passport holder does not need 35 visas to gain access to African countries.
Former president Goodluck Jonathan has called for a truce between the Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara and the minister of the federal capital territory, Nysome Wike over the political crisis in the State.
Jonathan made the call on Monday during the flag-off of a road project in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, he described the political tension as worrisome.
Over the weekend, a video which captured the moment, some traders engaged in a fight with two soldiers at the Banex plaza, in the Wuse 2 area of Abuja went viral on social media.
Witnesses said the soldiers visited the plaza to complain about a phone, which caused an argument with the traders, and a fight ensued, eliciting condemnation among a cross section of Nigerians.
On Monday, some military personnel were said to have arrived at the shopping complex with about five Hilux vehicles; and reportedly shut down the plaza.
Some soldiers have also been seen, standing at the entrance of the shopping complex, preventing traders from gaining access to the plaza.
In the democratic republic of Congo, a group of Americans are reported to have been involved in a botched coup, to overthrow President Felix Tshisekedi.
A chilling footage which has now gone viral, showed the moment two of the said plotters were seized by soldiers after trying to flee the country across the Congo River.
One of them is Marcel Malanga, a 21 year American student who allegedly accompanied his father, a former ‘Congolese refugee, from their home in Utah, to lead the coup. His father was shot dead and Marcel was arrested alongside two others.
Marcel’s mother, Brittney Sawyer, in a Facebook post on Monday, wrote that her son was innocent, and had only followed his father, adding that she is tired of all the videos showing her son on social media, and prayed for God’s protection.

Africa's problem is an identity crisis. I travelled once with an Austrian and his Gambian wife to Senegal from The Gambia. The Austrian and his wife had a free pass while I was asked to pay an unofficial 'fee'. My Austrian patient couldn't understand it.

It failed and he escaped and several men died (any justice for those men?). MNK was kidnapped from Kenya (this is also illegal). What can these delusional African leaders do for the continent if they cannnot fund what should have been an uber important union. One would conclude from different pieces of evidence that Africa is not in control of itself. We are not a collective but a mere expression of conflicting external interests.

Kanu is correct: Nigeria is a signatory to the international treaty against extraordinary rendition, under that agreement, Nigeria cannot prosecute Kanu after having extra renditioned him from Kenya -- losing the power to prosecuting a fugitive is one of the remedies that any state (Nigeria in this case) that engages in extra ordinary renditioning must suffer. The Court of Appeal was absolutely correct on this matter but the Nigerian Supreme Court, out of incompetence, corruption, or cowardice, created this confusion. The Supreme Court agreed that Kanu did not jump bail, yet Binta Nyacko still has him locked up unlawfully. I am not a follower of Kanu's (I am older than him and I disagree with his method) but I abhor the injustice being visited on him by the Nigerians state.

It’s possible you have not noticed that the Nigerian media are prejudiced against the Biafra struggle in their reportage. That is understandable; they are Nigerians and serve at the pleasure of their government. It would be pure naivety to think that there is freedom of the press in Nigeria. Now, add to that the impunity, lawlessness, unscrupulousness, and ruthlessness that the government is steeped in, you’ll lack no excuse for the Nigerian Press to look the other way to avoid ruffling the feathers of the government.
Irrespective of the myriad of proof and evidence we have mustered to the contrary, Reuben Abati and his crew, sans investigation, are convinced that IPOB is solely responsible for the insecurity in the East. Sometimes, Abati tried to obscure his true feelings, but Rufai Oseni could never hide his hatred for the Igbo race. You’ll have to hold your breath till doom’s day for Abati to acknowledge the innocence of MNK as established and adjudicated by no less than four courts, including the Supreme Court, in Nigeria.
Reuben Abati and his crew accused MNK of bearing arms against his country. That is where they murder the English language as they beguiled the population. How can one bear an arm when no weapon has ever been found in his arms? It would have been faintly palatable if they had accused him of forming a security outfit, the ESN. Even so, that would be a travesty that denies us our constitutionally guaranteed right to self-defense. ESN was formed after the Fulani unleashed the menace of the herdsmen, police, and the army on Igboland. Never a time did they condemn the murderous activities of these agents of destabilization.
You, too, are in danger of tripping on that bias when you said: “What he said that got the media’s attention is labeling the FG lawyer a terrorist.” You, too, toe the media’s line. You lighted up on my mention of Abati but conveniently ignored my explanation the MNK didn’t call the Prosecutor any names. What he did was cite a law, section and sub-section, that defined terrorism. And Nigeria is a party and signatory to that law.

The Rule of Law states that you violated the law by rendering him without properly seeking extradition! The court recognized that his home was invaded by the Nigerian army with the intent to kill him, however, he managed to escape assassination! Your court has already interpreted this and delivered a verdict stating "He is discharged and acquitted." You are ordered to return him to his place of origin and provide compensation for the damages incurred. If not for assassination, can you name a place where the Nigerian army has invaded without leaving a trail of blood, sweat, and tears? What kind of injustice is this?
