I just looove that you made a specific video about this!!😂😂 it's a really original idea!!.. I have a lot of friends who speak farsi and we make jokes all the time. Can't wait to use these phrases with them and have a laugh! They won't see it coming! Thank you😊
Another great lesson as always! I think even people who are not interested in Persian would love to learn it if they see this channel. Please Mr. Majid don't forget to add more grammar lessons because they help me a lot in understanding the other playlists. With profuse thanks.
I had fun with this - I paused the video and tried to guess the meaning of each one before you translated them. I didn't go well on the idiomatic ones, but some of the others I worked out more or less. I hope I won't need to use them! 11.04’ asaabam khurd-e I think we have a similar expression in English. We would say, “My nerves are frazzled”. I would like to know from 6.40’ if Khodet / Har-chi migi khodeti can only be used in the context of insults. If someone is giving compliments and you would say the same about that person, can these same phrases be used?
I didn't know about that english phrase, thanks Ana. About your question: this phrase is there to be used in the context of insults, however some young people trying to be sweet (and showing they don't deserve so much compliment, or they feel a bit shy) use it when they hear compliments. My suggestion is not to go for that because it shows a deep knowledge of language and background knowledge of culture and context. Best phrase to reply to compliments are: 'nazare lotfete' , 'lotf daari' both mean : it's kind/nice of you. you can also thank the person with 'mercy' or 'kheili mamnoon'. To return the compliment to the same person I can say it is really based on the compliment. Maybe someday I will make a lesson on it.
Thankyou so much sir Majid. These videos are so helpful.
