You know the more and more I listen to his you tube information . I think some of the common sense law advice can be applied to California law . Some not all of it . The basic law common sense is there to get good advice from . Thankyou !

How about if you were wrongfully dismissed because a coworker made lies about you and you were fired because they believed that person. That's called injustice. So now what? Who cares about severance pay...how about being dismissed cause of false allegations??

In Canada, your employer can dismiss you for a number of reasons. They can let you go if they don't like you, if your coworkers don't like you, or because you were late for work one day out of the entire year. While some terminations may seem far from fair, the employer has the right in many cases to let you go (except when the reason for termination is discriminatory), so long as they give you a severance package.

@@SamfiruTumarkinToronto no not really...they can't fire you cause they dont like you...unless you keep messing up. How ever....if you are fired for false allegations....you should fight for it. Especially for defamation of character. I think people who were falsley accused at work should get their job back. It is very hard on someone to lose their job because of someone else's lies

I never got a severance package because I'm not going to even accept it. I will fight for justice. Severance package is like pleading guilty to something you never did

You are absolutely incorrect. If you are a non-unionized employee, your employer can fire you simply because they don't like you. They can fire you if you wear a blue shirt to work, and the boss hates blue shirts. You can be fired, even though you actually haven't made a mistake. This is called a "termination without cause," and your employer must pay you full severance. Failure to do so amounts to a wrongful dismissal.
