Bigger and quicker scooters are not banned, just you need a driver license to operate them. And you have to drive them in automobile lanes

hi, i'm also living in beijing now, and i'm looking around for an e-scooter bike. does this model need to be registered now with the "temporary plate"?
any idea if there's any way to pimp up the speed? =D

Bought it on Jingdong (jd.com) from the official niu store. There should be different colors, but only black was available...

@@coffeebreak8719 is there a chance that they have a store in the Philippines? We've also searched online but cannot see the actual price for that same model.

@@midtowntraders3004 I just checked there webpage store finder: www.niu.com/en/niu-store-finder/
They have no shop in the Philippines. Maybe a local e-commerce provider in the Philippines does some kind of import. But we have no info about that.

Can 2 people use the U1? Or is it too small for 2 people?

Hi, I would say it depends how big the second person is. A kid is definitely no problem. A small adult normally also fits. If you wanna use it in Beijing, you should know that starting from next April it will not be allowed to take a second person with you (older than 12 years of age) anymore.

Why not restrict the bikes to a slower speed than forbid the whole bike or is it just physically too big? Anyhow, you sure have some strange laws there like the restriction for not have a 2nd passenger older than 12.

Not forbidden. Bigger and quicker scooters now require driver license which some people don't like
