www.alexhogrefe.com . The tutorial looks at the work flow of creating a "wet street" look using only photoshop. The illustration is of the Jindu Pavilion designed by Paul Lukez Architecture
I have a suggestion - just use the lasso tool mark the area that will be reflekted from the house and copy it. Then paste it and flip it vertical. After that arrange the layer with transform. When the reflectionlayer is flipped and arranged, erase or mask out everything that is outside the walkway. Finally use he fiter Gaussian Blur and set the layer opacity to 50 layer setting to overlay. DONE!. No hand painting needed - unless you like to paint.
Yeap nice tutorial Alex, thank for sharing ! Btw I am wondering too how did you do the night exterior view, I noticed that you created from a daylight render, isnt ? and arrenged the lights effect on photoshop. It would be great if you can teach how to creat a night view like that. Thanks !!!
With three point perspective images, such as the one shown. This method doesn't work. When the image is flipped the vanishing points won't match. Of course you can try to distort the perspective to match again but the corners won't join correctly. I tried it with a building over water and the reflection...was a pain in rear.
@cristyfofis I thought i did a video reply - maybe it disapeard. Check on my video page, i've done a video about it. Not a tutorial - but you get a visual of what im saying in my reply.
Often, getting a similar result via render requires way more time than doing it Post-prod style, since you have to calibrate your lighting and materials properties.
it would be very helpfull if you could do another video explaining how you transform a day rendering into a night render ... because i can see in the video that the original image isn't a night render ... i have seen your other tutorial but i believe that the quality you achieve in this is much detailed thanks any way ! exellente work !
Hard to explain, but read this up! Overlay is one of the most important blending modes in Photoshop, along with Multiply, Screen and Soft Light (IMHO).
A waste of time eh... You should use 3D max and Vray and will get everything done more than realistic in least time.
No :)

Well, you're right. But you can fake it. I did a video example to show it. It's completed in 1 minute and 40 seconds /watch?v=981pJ75Bk9U
You can use my link in the other post just add youtube before or just click on me to see how i did it.
