Oversimplifying a logo is bad enough but changing it into something that has nothing to do with the previous logo or even the brand is already overkill.
Twitter turning to X makes me think like "where is twitter" or "is twitter gone". Who would even turn the original Twitter to a random letter from the alphabet?
My least favorite logo change was-and still is-the Boomerang logo. It used to be a capital blue “B” shaped like a boomerang (Although it looked more like a PS game controller) and the channel’s slogan was “It’s all coming back to you.” All of the promos included windup toys of classic Hanna-Barbera characters and music that absolutely slapped. The new logo is literally just a 4x4x2 box with a large capital “B” stamped at the top, “BOOM” shown on one side and “ERANG” shown on the other. And the promos are full of bright colors and music that I find absolutely bothersome. Seeing this logo change was one of the biggest tragedies of my childhood.

To me complaining about new logo changes is dumb. Even if they made a new good logo, people will still complain. They like to romanticize the past. There are many important things to be concern in the world about that an image. Plus this whole oversimplified logo meme is dead.
Here is another one, the Apple Jack's and the Cap'n Crunch mascots were change and the apple Jack's mascots are bad, but the Cap'n Crunch mascot is kinda bad, but its okay.

I totally agree with you on most of these, but especially for Chuck E. Cheese. Have you ever heard about their 2.0 remodel? It literally gets rid of the iconic animatronics that makes the place special.
