    These Fast Forward videos from IndyCar are absolutely perfect! They really give you a feel for the race that you just can't get in a 5-minute highlight clip. I look forward to them every race weekend and try my best to avoid spoilers beforehand.
    A lot of racing series out there have been totally dropping the ball lately with really poor highlights shows (...looking at you, WRC, World RX). Meanwhile IndyCar is knocking it out of the park. And of course the great racing certainly helps. Exciting new drivers, unbeatable on-track action, and a close championship battle...I'm just loving everything about IndyCar these days!

      I have to say that the NBC crew did a good job at the Laguna Seca IndyCar race. They stayed focused on the actual race, rather than the usual side stories, and when they cut to the obligatory Jimmy Johnson coverage, he was actually going wheel to wheel with Grosjean.

      It wasn't that big of a mistake. Look at the yellow car in front of Dixon. It is so much slower than the cars in front of it. • @UNHchabo
      @UNHchabo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@danielabazi5020 The vast majority of Indycar's races are on road/street courses. This is the last oval of the year with three races remaining.
      Also, you underestimate the skill involved with oval racing. You can find out yourself in iRacing how difficult it is, most people find it hard at first to even make it one lap at speed around an oval track without either hitting the wall or spinning.

    • @danielabazi5020
      @danielabazi5020 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@UNHchabo No of course it takes skill it is actually challenging and indycar has a lot of road courses so there is some variabilty. But the above comment compared it to f1 which personally i think takes much more skill.

    • @UNHchabo
      @UNHchabo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@danielabazi5020 I'm not sure I see a different amount of skill required, just a different set of skills. There have been a number of F1 drivers that have come over to Indycar over the years, and none of them have found it easy. Grosjean, when talking with Magnussen, said that the main difference is that he tried taking the Indycar in nice clean lines like an F1 car, and he was multiple seconds off-pace. But then his crew told him to kick the backend out in the corners, and that got him up to a normal speed.
      What I like about Indycar over F1, and it sounds like OP feels the same, is that the *rules set* is more conducive to close, even racing. It's a spec chassis, so there's only a limited advantage to be gained by having a massive budget. The lower-downforce package introduced in 2018 means that dirty air isn't as much of a problem for passing (which the next-gen F1 car also has). And I prefer the Push-to-Pass system to DRS, because it increases the strategic complexity in the hands of the driver. They might waste it all early in the race and have none left to defend at the end, or they may be on such a fuel-saving strategy that they can't afford to use any the whole race.

    • @spartan6992
