- Euro NCAP Frontal Impact takes place at 64 Km/h, 40% of the width of the car striking a deformable barrier. In the Full Width test, 100% of the width of the car impacts a rigid barrier at 50 Km/h. In the side impact, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door at 50 km/h. In the pole test, the car tested is propelled sideways at 32 km/h into a rigid pole.

I had a accident in 2018 .
Driving in a 2016 outlander.
CRV out of nowhere came out right in the front of me .
I was doing 60mph no time to break.
I can confirm that mitsubishi are awesome if it comes to crashes.

The flat front crash the dinamic shield protect the car
The tested car has 215/70/16 size wheels. The car bounces on the road with these wheels as well. I am planning to buy 225/55/18 wheels which are other original option of the manufacturer. Also I am waiting for some quality springs from quality manufacturers because i need to lower the car to stop bounce.
or buy some normal car…

A couple of days ago the ex crashed her 19 Eclipse Cross. Rear-ended a Buick SUV at about 20mph. No airbags deployed. Buick drove away without a scratch. Eclipse had $8,000+ in damage and I had to pry the door open to get out.
(Why was I with my ex? We have a kid together and we were all fine)
I am sorry to hear that, but generally rear ends of cars are much durable than front-side (intentionally). Even though we can assume Eclipse is not best, but for most of the cars still front-end would have worse impact then rear-end of hit car.
High repair cost cant necessarily be equated with vehicle safety.
Modern cars are designed with specific crumple zones and charasteristics to protect the passengers and driver, not to limit damage.
The side impact test was scary! And strangely, they did NOT emphasize images of the rollover. I think the consumer really needs to know what he's buying. And one more detail: ugly back that reminds you of the Aztec Pontiac.

What about the PHEV version? Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV weighs 550 kg more than a petrol automatic. I would have liked to see this crahs test. Does anyone know if PHEV is tested?
This is a 2017 model, why does the curtain airbag not extend forward to where the frontal airbag is? That may be a problem in some crashes, for example, a 25% overlap frontal crash, or a rollover.
Mitsubishi better do something to reduce the roll-over risk!
I've seen lots of EuroNCAP crash videos, and this is the first time a car rolled over during side impact test!

Mitsubishi already ruined the name of the Eclipse when they've created the last generation Eclipse based on the slow selling Galant..Ugly fat FWD coupe that suffers too much from torque steer.
