This was the first time I ever witnessed either Leo or Lex experiencing the lactic acid factor. At last year's nationals they both crossed the line right behind Colin Sahlman in 14:05 and they both looked like they had just walked out of an ice cream shop. Colin could barely walk but they were both smiling as if they could have gone another 5K. Guess they are human after all. : )
I had the same reaction. I thought they must have been sick, Lex was panting so hard when he crossed the line in like 34th place. Last April he looked like he could have taken Colin down in that epic Arcadia 3200, but just didn't out of respect. So, it's still hard for me to believe that they went out too hard and blew up.
I dont think they were holding back. Colin out kicked them at the state meet his senior year and the young twins looked like they were really trying. If anything they were overjoyed with their performance
We all...all of us who try to surpass ourselves...sometimes cannot maintain the high level we've set for ourselves. Our reach exceeds our grasp...which is what makes us good at what we do...but also what causes us to settle for the Moon. Leo ran a 14:58 for the 5K in that race.
I respect that, it was a tough race, Leo was out kicked, things didn't go their way, but they went out there and did what seemed to be the best. Track season will be historical
They went out too hard based on their bodies still recovering from illness, not too hard based on their normal paces. I've raced previously after illness and you really feel the affects in the second half. It is what it is and there's no use dwelling on things you can't change.
I haven't heard from them that they were ill. But I also don't think they're the type of people to say it even if they were. So maybe they were. Maybe they weren't. It's quite strange they both didn't run well (for their standards) but the same happened at the Euro XC where the 3 favourites in the U20 men ran awful. Anything can happen in XC!
Dev Doshi was ill. The last hill is where all these runners pay a price. Miscalculated the hill and kick at the end but still tan very quick. Aaron picked up the slack and was able to finish strong along with Brayden another teammate. Course record was set and the team did very well with a course record. If the twins were sick they probably didn’t know it but they were ready to go. Imo they simply miscalculated this course much like Nico when he first ran it. It has a nasty hill at the end that makes it hard to finish strong. The hill allows other runners to take advantage right at the end when it matters most. The times were good and the team really did well. Big win and congrats to Aaron. Love his story!
Great Interview. All of these kids ran their hearts out. What a great race to watch. L&L will crush it at Stanford.
Agreed they did and yes they will. Stanford's team will be a force to be reckoned with

I've had that kinda thing happen to me too. You're running a great race and then you get in your own head and can't stop focusing on the pain.
Common Trackstaa W
Because this is your content, could this be you saying you have common W's too?
In other words, he and his brother went out too hard.
Essentially
@@nelz2012 that’s a false Rumor I think

@@tawfeeqismail9279 that's IF they were ill. We don't know that for sure.
I’m glad they didn’t decide to make any bs excuses
a tough as nails young man!
Nice video! It is cool that you could overlay his comments on the video I shot. :)
Thanks! I loved the full video. It’s great!

What I see is Lex and Leo pushed a little too hard too early and the consequence was too much lactic acid build up too early on in the rave
Have you seen The Runner TH-cam Channel Recently? It's even more stupid now. It's called Mystery Realm now.
Yep 😂😂
A fast start is not always the smart start…
