I just can't believe how good this game is. To think they locked this amazing content away behind some random NPC interaction that most players probably won't even encounter. The effort put into this game is unreal
This song gets me every time. All of those who have lost someone and can feel that somehow we let them down in certain moments of our life, only to realize later they loved us all the same.
Maybe in the dlc? I heard Larian is open to the idea of additional content, but they’re hesitant because more sidequests could result in overleveling early on, making the game too easy. But adding new characters and new races wouldn’t have that issue.
@@420Crushdude. It’s dialogue how stupid are you? The advancements in gaming technology effect. Graphics. Hardware. Cutscenes. Gameplay etc. but voice recording and acting? That’s up to the actors not the damn equipment, I can’t wrap my head around how stupid people are now days that he thinks more dialogue and better voice actors has to do with technology advancing? Yet you probs used a phone to write this message and not realising that your phone has same “advanced” technology they used 🤣😂
@@420Crush Better technology? What does that have to do with voice acting? Disney movies from the 40s have better voice acting than most of Skyrim, and with much more primitive technology, so try again.
I have a buddy who has a terrible habit of speed-running all the dialogue options regardless of the outcome. For this interaction, even he felt the grief, loss, and pain and since he has drastically reduced skipping dialogue options.
I think it's incredibly cool that they enabled a way to get any class to be able to play an instrument and make it so any charisma class can make really easy distractions for your thief to rob everyone store blind.
Unfortunately, it looks like the video quality was downgraded while I uploaded the video. I guess it was too big for TH-cam for someone like me who rarely posts videos. =) EDIT: Looks like the video quality is continuing to go up; now its at 720p, so it's a big improvement.

And when I stumbled upon Halsing later, I told him and he was like: I LEAVE FOR ONE SECOND AND THEY DID WHAT? FUCK THOSE GUYS THEY DESERVED TO DIE. GOOD JOB! Now I have her Lute as a potential quest item. This game is wild y'all.
playing a Dark urge Monk that doesn't kill right now because I found that amusing, wanted to find her so I could help her with her struggling song just so what happens next would hit extra hard
I started as Dark Urge, with the intent to resist it. A random Tiefling ran into the camp wanting to join up. Welcome aboard! Woke up standing over her body after I completely remodelled her with a knife and my bare hands. JFC. Restarted later for various reasons. Took one left turn in the grove I missed. See Alfira perched picturesque on a rock with an audience of woodland creatures like a Disney princess and we played a beautiful song together and I got to see some of the life return to her saddened eyes, knowing she wouldn't get to see the dawn.

So-so song. Carried away by a moonlight shadow - that's the real song the plot reminds me. PS much cooler to resolve this BG3 moment playing a bard with main character.
I hate how its so obviously a completely different woman with a Russian accent is singing this song. Like its a pretty big oversight, considering how much work went into the scene otherwise.

Although, you can tell the clear difference in voice actresses for Alfira between her speaking and singing voice
I love the part where yet fingers clearly aren't interacting with the guitar. So much detail and effort.
I completely missed this in my first play though. I was so blown away when I encountered it in my second. This game continues to blow my mind.
This was a “wow” moment, then you get to the boss battle with Raphael in the house of Hope and just get completely blown away

This interaction is way better when you're a Bard and can help her write the song.
You don’t need to be a bard and you don’t get the amazing song. You just get the perform ability
You don’t need to be a bard, in fact it’s actually better if you’re not a bard because you gain a free performance skill by succeeding

I never saw this scene in the grove while playing the game. Is it not in the Xbox version?
It's on the xbox version. She's off on a cliff/hillside, kind of by the harpy fight at the shore.
