Despite having very limited resources (survive on Social Security) have been looking, locally, for a CD of budgies, to keep her company, when I thought to come to TH-cam! Belle has been chirping happily ever since! Bless you, my friend!
This video helped my 4 week baby transition from her original flock to me ...I agreed to hand feed and wean this baby. The first day she wouldn't eat any formula but surprising toward evening I found her eating the millet in the bottom of her cage. The next day I put a mirror in her cage with a low perch and turned on your video; within a couple of minutes while still hiding in my sleeve she began to chirp. I brought her out and but her in her cage near the monitor and the next thing I knew she was squawking like a ban chi going toward her reflection in the mirror. I think she thought her reflection was mama bird. So I whipped up her formula and she ate like a champ. She loves the company and when out of her cage she goes to the monitor and listens. So thank you from both of us for making this transition less traumatic. I put the 10 hr video one on and it last all day! I Love it and my husband has not complained....yet. PS she has not returned to inside my sleeve nor hiding under the soft blanket in her cage. She chirps happily and is adjusting nicely

Oh if the budgie is a girl the nose is pink its too young it is a very very light pink and if it is a boy its has a blue nose if it is too young it has a very very light blue nose. (it might sound weird but yes its true for budgies blue for boys and pink for girls
I read up on budgies before getting one so I know this but Captain's nose is still white so I still don't know what gender Captain is but thanks anyway for taking time to try and help

Tissue Tea I tried this on Dom, my little guy who I picked up a few days ago and I heard him clearly chirp for the first time! In case you didn't know, Tissue Tea, young budgies don't often make noise in order to help protect themselves from possible predatory danger. As a budgie matures, it will sing more often. If I remember correctly, they tend to make the most noise first thing in the morning, around noon, and then again before bedtime.
Played this in front of my 2 budgies and after a minute one of them got really curious and started chirping allot. I felt really bad though cause he seemed like he was really excited to see them so I turned it off and started whistling like a bird to him for awhile back and forth and he actually seems really happy now.
