I think it’s fantastic you’re so inclusive with your recommendations for local offerings beyond the resort. So many others will exclude places they don’t frequent, don’t appreciate, or just ignore for any reason.
My wife and I spent 9 nights at this hotel from September 4-13 this year. We went for her "big birthday". We had a room in the Canyon Tower on the 9th floor with a Strip view. Apart from a building blocking most of the Sphere the view was excellent, especially at night. We did not have a bath but we never use one on vcation anyway and found the shower more than good enough. We absolutely loved the sandy pool area and used it every day. There were always six or seven lifeguards, even when it was not so busy. We booked it as a package with a Virgin flight from Manchester and so did not pay a resort fee.We knew it was a fair distance from the Strip but were not that bothered as we walk a lot on holiday anyway. We walked the sstrip twice a day most days. It takes about 20 minutes, but around 5 of that is waiting for the lights to change on Koval and the road after it. Even though we often walked back around midnight we never felt unsafe and the rumours of lots of homeless are exaggerated, especially since the F1 area has been built. We used the CVS and chicken shop as well as White Castle occasionally. We would not hesitate to book again if a decent offer came up. The main thing that would put us off is location,as spending 80 or so minutes walking to the strip twice a day does eat into your time. It is also tiring in the heat. We are not gamblers so have no comment on the casino, although the hotel and casino was very busy on the nights that there was a show on. It was not always as empty as the video may suggest. Casa Calavera had a good offer for reduced Tacos on Tuesday, which saw it very busy.
I like that you called out the terrible setup of the Momentum reward system. As a Connecticut resident I frequent the main Mohegan property here but I hate that they don't tell you the coin in needed for momentum dollars and status points. Another annoyance I learned when I was in Vegas in August is Momentum in Vegas and Connecticut is not linked but actually separate programs, so I was not able to use the Momentum card I carry with me at this property.
I think you missed The Shag Room. It is actually one of our favorite spots as a Las Vegas local. They have a great band called POP 40 in there every Saturday night. Great place to have a drink and do some dancing.
They’re very friendly to pet owners. They give doggie treats and toys and the fees are reasonable. They even have room service meals for dogs. Ps - the room service hot fudge and caramel cookie is amazing. And I’m pretty sure it’s still free parking.
Good job, as always. I, too, vividly remember the Hard Rock. It was a happen place. Since it became the Virgin, I've never seen it busy. It's got good restaurants, and The Shag Room is great spot. Keep up the good work.

It’s super clean and quiet. The gym is small but enough with the little coffee/smoothie stand right next to it.
We've only been to Vegas once. We opted to stay at the Virgin, and didn't hate it at all! We went summer 2023 in August, and found the casino and rooms perfect for our needs. We ended up winning back most of what we put into the slots, which was of course a nice thing. We had a standard king room, and could see the sphere out of our window. The only thing we didn't like was how expensive most of the food was. We ended up walking over to The Tuscany to eat as Marilyns most mornings.
It’d be cool if virgin hotel made a package deal plan that had flights and hotel bundle deal since they’re close to the airport ….. they would bring more customers … also since virgin is also an airplane company .. include shuttle service too …. Just a thought
Jacob, great job and it's great that you pay your own way and are giving an honest and informative review. Great video Jacob. I actually feel like Virgin is one of the best casinos in Vegas now because they do most the little things right that Strip casinos do not do correctly. Authentic table games on the main casino floor being one of those things, along with nice pools that aren't too busy, free parking, etc. It's a great option and I highly recommend this Vegas hotel/casino right now in 2024.
They raise the Roulette limits late swing 1-2AMish, so no new players will sit down. Swing shift gets out at 2-3:00AM. When they reopen the game the next morning they reset it at a lower limit…
Back a few years ago in the middle of the pandemic lockdown, the walls were closing in on my so I drove up to Vegas (from Phoenix) and back in a day. Part of my mission on that day was to scope out Virgin's Casino. I remember thinking to myself that I couldn't believe that Sir Richard had built something this boring, but I chalked it up to the pandemic and comparing it to the Hard Rock. Nope. Really is a boring casino. Anyway, on the elevator ride back up to my car in the parking garage I was in there with two security guards. One asked the other "What floor are you parked on?" The other said "Seven." "Why so high?" (keep in mind, it was the pandemic, you could park almost anywhere). The response to that was the highlight of my trip: "Thieves are lazy; they won't go up that high."
It’s a beautiful property. I visited once a couple of years ago. I had no idea it wasn’t a brand new hotel, it was that clean. A significant downside was the extremely long wait to check in. We waited over an hour after arriving at about 1:00 a.m. before we made it to the front desk. There was not much of a crowd though, aside from about a dozen other people trying to check in at the same time. They could make this process faster for sure. The decorations and furnishings are very hip and modern. I definitely appreciated the vanity. We don’t gamble so I didn’t visit the casino. The restaurant was great and had a brunch mimosa deal. If any hotel/casino in Vegas wants to fill its casinos with visitors, just change two simple things: bring back free valet parking and have a rewarding rewards program. It would also work wonders if they attracted locals with gambler-friendly odds/games/policies. They also need to bring in more party vibes and entertainment. The place seemed quiet when I was there. I love that but that’s not why most people go to Las Vegas. I was visiting family that I didn’t want to stay with, so I didn’t really miss the lack of night life. It’s way off strip so they need to make their own fun! Look at Palms. Tons to do, fun atmosphere, but also has a separate non-casino hotel nearby for people who enjoy quiet. It’s off strip, but it doesn’t matter because you don’t need to go down to the strip if you’re at Palms because there’s plenty to do.

Ugh Momentum. We have that at Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls Ontario, now owed by Mohegan, and you are right.. NO ONE can explain the rewards program. It's so ridiculous. Our Soar status requires 15,000 status points so if yours is 5,000 for Soar, yay , lucky you!
That property looks like exactly what I would enjoy. Clean, spacious, and apparently hardly anyone there. Heck, if for nothing else, I would go just for that deep bathtub, and nice room.
I love this hotel. Rooms are clean, big and modern. Good restaurants on property. Great spa. It’s a nice location that’s a bit quieter at the end of the strip and you can walk to a Walgreens and some restaurants as well. I’ve been for a couple conferences. Had a great time every time.
anyone remember the Rehab parties back in the day? Those were the days.. Scored so much choice trim.. and did so much blow.. counting cards with no repercussions... dang.. i wanna go back..
We went when it was hard rock and just opened. We lasted about 30 minutes. It had every obnoxious douche in America visiting. Even the valet was complaining about how obnoxious the customers were.
I agree, I remember going and playing at the craps tables and even the dealers were douches. If you weren't a hollywood celebrity or pro athlete they acted as though you weren't worth their time.
Great review video. Off strip properties need a strong local base to succeed. With their confusing rewards program, seems like locals rather go elsewhere. Property looks nice, staff friendly.
Great overview of the hotel! We moved out of Vegas at the beginning of 2023 and I always wondered how the Virgin Hotel came out. But what happened to The Joint and Vinyl?? Those were the best venues!
That was super kind of you to give a shout out to their employees. I’ve only stayed once since it became Virgin and I found myself heavily overtipping because I felt so bad for all of the cocktail servers & bartenders not making any money…..because it was like a ghost town.
The hair (visible) on the couch is the least of the worries compared to what's on the couch (not visible). I remember going through the casino and hotel lobby on an afternoon visit when it was Hard Rock and they had an AVN Convention event there.
Thanks Jacob - enjoy and appreciate your reviews. We're allergic to children, especially in Vegas and even more so when the little creatures are in the casinos and pools - thanks for the video of the pool area, definitely rates as "no go" for us. Side note: we are loyal to Virgin Voyages (18 and over only cruises) - wondering if this property and Virgin Voyages have any reciprocal benefits? Keep up the good work, don't let the Bed-Bugs bite.
I go to Station and it is annoying. But they really don’t care, I get the same monthly perks even if I don’t go travel there for 7 or more months. Great food choices and old school machines brings me back.
Went there back in. 2023 and it was cool. Just did not know how far they were from the strip. Had a Latin pool party. It was cool experience since I had been there to Vegas since I was 14, 😂😂
Lots of positives! I really liked The Hard Rock but I was lured away by The Riviera with outstanding comps, Then great MGM comps with dozens of stays at The Mirage. I will absolutely be going to the new Hard Rock. Big bonus on No resort fees on comped rooms at Virgin and will be making that a reason stop in to play next time I'm in Vegas and start earning those comps. I would love to see MGM do that as well. Well, didn't we see this coming?!?! I did.
As a Connecticut native Mohegan Sun is the GO TO casino resort in New England and they run a top notch operation out here. I went last year to LV, was excited to go to Virgin since its a Mohegan ran property and I was soooo disappointed 😔 maybe since the market out here is so nuch slimmer they cant compete with the big fish of Vegas... What works here might not work out there
That place looks awesome. To be honest, I'm not going to Vegas to relax though, but it looks amazing for people that want that kind of vacation. I would definitely go there for the Craps though, not a lot of $10 tables on the strip. One thing I lament is the feeling of the constant party and anything goes attitude that vegas used to have but now seems to be focusing on the "family vacation"
What can Virgin do to get more people playing in the casino once Mohegan Sun is out?

That property looks like exactly what I would enjoy. Clean, spacious, and apparently hardly anyone there. Heck, if for nothing else, I would go just for that deep bathtub, and nice room.
😎
This is exactly my recollection.
Terrific Vlog... yet again, ALL your vlogs are on point! pretty entertaining too. :D
Than kyou!
Great review video. Off strip properties need a strong local base to succeed. With their confusing rewards program, seems like locals rather go elsewhere. Property looks nice, staff friendly.
great video Jacob. I may try to stay here next time in Vegas
Thank you! I hope you enjoy your stay!
This hotel has a special place in my heart thanks to Real World Las Vegas 2011.
lmao I find it funny you pick up the hairs without hesitation.
😂
And then throw them on the floor. Don't they have a wastebasket in the room?
Great overview of the hotel! We moved out of Vegas at the beginning of 2023 and I always wondered how the Virgin Hotel came out. But what happened to The Joint and Vinyl?? Those were the best venues!
That was super kind of you to give a shout out to their employees.
I’ve only stayed once since it became Virgin and I found myself heavily overtipping because I felt so bad for all of the cocktail servers & bartenders not making any money…..because it was like a ghost town.
You know Jacob’s about to go in the pool when you hear the club music building up 😂
Love the videos!
My Wife and I really love staying at the two bedroom penthouse at the Bellagio .
Ain't all the staff striking at this hotel right now? Which is almost unheard of in a city like las vegas.
Congratulations on your success Jacob 💪🏿
Thank you!
rest in peace rehab
🙏
The hair (visible) on the couch is the least of the worries compared to what's on the couch (not visible). I remember going through the casino and hotel lobby on an afternoon visit when it was Hard Rock and they had an AVN Convention event there.
Had some fun fun times at the hard rock..
The concert arena was huge the pool parties were loud and tons of great music
Thanks Jacob - enjoy and appreciate your reviews. We're allergic to children, especially in Vegas and even more so when the little creatures are in the casinos and pools - thanks for the video of the pool area, definitely rates as "no go" for us. Side note: we are loyal to Virgin Voyages (18 and over only cruises) - wondering if this property and Virgin Voyages have any reciprocal benefits? Keep up the good work, don't let the Bed-Bugs bite.
That bathroom reminds of of the movie "The Substance"
"Have you ever dreamt of a better version of yourself? You. Only better in every way."
Good movie❤
Jacob shirtless? Dam I am definitely going to like and subscribe!
I go to Station and it is annoying. But they really don’t care, I get the same monthly perks even if I don’t go travel there for 7 or more months. Great food choices and old school machines brings me back.
Wow even Vegas Pauly C posted that 700 employees walked off today, shame Virgin went downhill, every time I go there something else is closed down. 😢
Stayed there mid September. I thought everything was great. The staff, the rooms, pool, food….everything was great.
Nice!
What works here might not work out there
Jacob congrats on your success.
Thank you!
Hey Jacob, great posts, very informative. Ever thought about using a UV light to go over the rooms or would that be too frightening?
Bring back the shuttle the Hard Rock used to have to the mall and back
That place looks awesome.
