Thanks so much for your comment! I greatly appreciate it. I will probably be doing a 100-hour review at the end of this cutting season to give some more details on performance over 2 years. Stay tuned!
@@thebradleysoncatbirdhill6849 Okay great! Have you experienced the deck noise some guys are having? I'm going to my dealer tomorrow and looking at a ZT HD52, or 60.
Love your perspective on the importance of separating the tasks - at the point that it is practical to do so. Deep learning from the school of "what got you here won't get you where you're going". We just inherited a zero-turn (JD 737, 2007 vintage - but that's a story for another day) that while worn, still performs. In fact - wow! - what a difference from the results and the effort involved with the 'one tractor does everything' approach. The big win for me is that Coral loves the zero-turn so much she's totally voluntarily taken over ALL of the mowing! haha
@@thebradleysoncatbirdhill6849 haha - I don't know what it is - but the contrast between the tractor and the zero-turn (blazing a 60" swath at something like 10 or 11 mph - headphones blasting) has Coral so hooked that she does not let me near the mower other than for fueling and maintenance. She quickly laid claim and staked it out as hers . . . Clearly, any genius role that I had in evoking that outcome was completely accidental on my part. Now if I can just figure out how to get her equally involved in other tasks. We've got some outbuildings that need power washing, scraping and painting . . .
Thanks so much for watching and for your comment! I would love it if you would subscribe, since I will be doing further reviews of the machine as it accumulates more hours.
I am considering buying one, your videos are helpful. Thank you! But I am not a fan of side discharge, I prefer mulching. Does this mower have a mulching option? If so, does it mulch well? Thanks
Thanks so much for watching and your comment, Charlie! That is an excellent question! Frankly, I do not have an immediate answer. I would suggest accessing a Gravely dealer and asking if that is an option. My mower is now coming up on 3 years old, and they may have added accessories. I will tell you that even in cutting fairly heavy grass, it basically pulverizes it. I have virtually no discharge marks when I am done.
John great mower.. I have the same one I have owned for 10 years.. 27 hp Kawasaki with the 48 inch deck.. I was told when I bought it that it was a pro mower minus the rops which pro mowers have to have for Insurance purposes.. mine has 500 hrs on it with general maintenance which involves dealer spring tune up which involves everything fluids filters grease sharpening or replace.. I got snubbed by the other dealer starting with a x the gravely dealer took great care of me and offered me a 1k off when I said I would pay in cash.. I have sold at least 5 of my coworkers on them ..👍
HeyJoJo!!!! So good to hear from you my friend! Yes, I am totally impressed with Gravely! Everything about the product, the sales experience, the delivery, etc, was top notch. This thing is a total tank, and I anticipate using this until they put me in the ground!
@@bryanhauschild4376 I think it would be an additional dealer add on. I think the next line up which is fully a pro line, the roll bar comes standard. Best to check with a dealer.
I'm considering this exact mower, mainly because the dealer is 3 miles down the road from me. I'm curious, what made you choose the 52" deck over the 60" deck?
Awesome question! Thanks so much for watching! Truly It was a decision based on how my yard is laid out in many areas. I have a ton of trees that are fairly close together. The 52" gave me the turning radius I needed. If I did not have so many trees, I would have done the 60".
I paid $5,876 plus tax for my 2023 Gravely ZT HD 60 on 03-22-2024 during Gravely’s “Mow the Distance” sales event. I truly believe this zero turn mower is the best value for your dollar. I’m 100% happy with mine. It’s a well-built, quality manufactured machine right here in the United States and the Gravely name has been around for decades. I run Oregon blades on mine. They are much better and thicker than the OEM Gravely blades. I actually somehow managed to bend an OEM Gravely blade. I also want to give a shoutout to my dealer, Gautreaux’s Outdoor Power in Baton Rouge, LA. They have treated me very well and have taken good care of me. If you’re in the market for a zero turn mower, or any outdoor power equipment, give Curt a call at Gautreaux’s, or stop by and see him and the facility. They sell Gravely, Scag, Hustler, Echo, Shindaiwa, and other big name brands.
Hey there! So good to hear from you! Yes, I absolutely love that mower! I think it is probably one of the best values out there if you can find a Gravely dealer nearby. I'll be coming up on 100 hours of usage, and definitely will do a review at that time. However, I would buy that mower over and over again if I had the need. Honestly, I don't see the need to go to their full level professional/commercial line. You're looking at about another 3 to $4,000 above the price of what I paid for that. I have a pretty rough property, and I push that thing very hard, and it has been rock solid steady all the way. How are you doing?
The 3 month review and this comment, coming up to 100 hrs, is exactly what I needed... Was debating between a nice 60" Cub Cadet or the 60" Gravely... Goin for the Gravely - Thanks‼️
The Gravely HD ZT is a Ariens Apex design as Ariens bought out Gravely, it's a very good mower but I don't give a squat for anything above a proturn (with the Ariens design) because they are Gravely designed and poorly engineered. I almost bought the Ariens Zenith but couldn't find any dealerships within a reasonable distance and refused to buy one at the Box stores
I love the machine but to me if you're going to bag you're not going to want to back leaves because that's going to feel your bags up real quick you might as well have a leaf blower and raked that shit onto a tarp lol and obviously voice to text sucks lol
@@thebradleysoncatbirdhill6849 oh okay yeah I have the same mower 52 but when I saw your property that's a lot of grass you're cutting but understandable about the tree situation.
@@Honda1k Trust me, I was just delighted to graduate from a tractor mounted belly mower to this thing! It's cut my grass cutting time almost in half! I have no idea why waited so long!
While the 60-inch deck will obviously cover more ground, the 52" will fit on most single-axle utility trailers. That was my issue. When I have to haul mine, I use a 5' x 10' single-axle trailer. Great mower! Great company! Be safe.
Great review of the Gravely Zero turn and Gravelys history. I just subscribed to your channel 🔧👍
