    Wow, it was a great job you just did, and I'm impressed about how clean is everything is your shop and you're using tools that I've never seen before. Thanks for sharing this video.

    saw this from r/woodworking -- looks great. I agree with your philosophy with imperfect wood as long as it doesn't interfere with the structural/functional integrity of the work piece.

    Really great design and aesthetics, Kris! The three different heights really work well - definitely better than an Ikea set haha.

    Thanks so much for this video! It inspired me to create a couple of plantstands using recovered pallet wood and my wife loves them! The only difference is that I used a contour gauge tour gauge to create profiles for the top part so the pots fit nice and snug.

    I know that feeling when your wife says she wants to buy something from Ikea but you tell her you'll make it instead... 6 months later she asks if she can just buy it again. :)

    These came out really nice! I see what you mean about using different wood species, though. How sturdy is that half lap joint without any glue or fastener?

    • @furthernorthfab
      @furthernorthfab  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, they would popped a lot more if I would have used different woods for sure! They are super sturdy. I won’t be standing on them to demonstrate, but they’re solid.

    before I download the plans, can you recommend a good alternative to the domino joints? I don't own that tool, or a biscuit joiner.

    • @furthernorthfab
      @furthernorthfab  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rob Munro I talk about it in the plans, but you could use dowel joinery or even screws with plugs.

    Is the thickness of the board 1or 2 inches thick?

    • @furthernorthfab
      @furthernorthfab  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jody Montez it’s 1 inch material, but you could use 2 inch. I do have plans on my website

  • @FlyingSolo77
    @FlyingSolo77 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Anyone try this using pocket screws or biscuits instead of domino$$$? Also I think it would look nicer and more stable if the legs were splayed out a bit but then the joints would be that much more difficult.
