wanted to install some small mods just to fuck around with missile cavalry and semi trucks or whatever, all the other tutorials were on big serious overhual mods. great tutoriial
Can someone help....im not using steam version and i have tried eveything....im old in tw franchise so i know everything about mods but here in rome 2 i just cant...i have tried mod managers...i got nothing in options menu...just cant mod ...for every help i would be grateful !
When i shut down and restart my pc the mods i have subscribed to, don't appear on mods manager and i have to subscribe to them again. How can i fix this?
I have no idea how you installed Rome II without using Steam. I think Steam is required in order to play the game. The only way I can think this can happen is if you pirate the game, but that's not important. Either way, I don't know a way to install Workshop mods without using Steam. There is probably a way to do it but I imaging it would be very complicated. I would suggest you to find a modder and talk to them about it. They would know better.
Berserkhead Total War I've tried multiple mods, some download in a flick and some take forever or don't even start at all. I actually tried what you said already, I'd figured out that it might work if I just put them in my subscriptions and hopefully they'll download in some days while playing the game. Thanks for the help!
Jelle Stolk It definitely has to do with Steam. I sometimes have a similar problem with patches, they just don't download. Sometimes I gotta restart Steam multiple times to make it work.
Thanks alot for the vid! Now I know whats wrong with my mods. basically when I launch my game via steam it should show me the launcher just like yours but for me it is always doing some kind of installation and then the launcher appears but I don't get any mod management option. How can prevent steam to do this kind of initial installation? I would really appreciate it if anyone of you could provide me with a brief how do I. cheers
I have no idea man, sorry. Maybe if you don't have any mods installed, it maybe wouldn't be there but since you've watched this video you probably do, so I really don't know. Try the forums, they may have an answer for you.
same for me and I have the suspicion that it has to do with the initial install routine that starts everytime I launch the game. I remeber reading something about changing/adding a registry key to prevent steam from doing so but don't know what it was.
if it was not too much trouble could you upload the mods to a page as mega or 4 shared apart so that we unload the pirate you would appreciate a lot and not just please
+Aiden Rourke yea i have the same problem. I have mods installed but it doesn't show the menu that the video has where i can activate the mods i want it just goes to the game. i play on mac i don't know if thats why it doesn't work.
i did not buy the game but i want some mods from the steam workshop can i still get em or do i have to buy the game-? i pay 10euro if some 1 knows how to do it
There's no way you can play mods without the base game. The system works in such a way that your PC will not even recognize the mod files unless you have the game. Plus the mods only add or replace things from the game so it's practically impossible to play only using a mod.
jakob krutsch There's probably a way to make it work but it involves 2 people at least. I would just suggest buying the game. If you are willing to drop 10 euros for mods, you should be willing to drop 20 for the full game on sale or from an independent distributor.
jakob krutsch If you wait for it to go on sale it will be significantly cheaper. I would also suggest a site like Kinguin where you can find a pretty good deal as well.
Why? I think I did a decent job of explaining how to install a mod. I hate it when when people explain stuff with 2 sentences. I personally con't understand these kind of "tutorials". It's much better when the person is showing the whole process and going through everything.
Well first, I don't support piracy. Then, even if you bough the game and you wanted to download a mod from say the Total War Center, it should be explained how to do it in the mod's thread. I just wanted to make a video in which I show people how to download from the workshop because there wasn't a video like that and I thought there should be.
In the newer versions of the Launcher there's a Mod Manager "Button" hidden in the top left corner. It's really just some white font, easily overseen.
Thanks for this video man. U uploaded it 2 yrs ago but its still benefiting people! thank you!
6 years now lol
@@stoutcrow 10 years now
@@oblivian632 Holy yeah
I do this but none of the modes are taking effect.
same issue with me :/
wanted to install some small mods just to fuck around with missile cavalry and semi trucks or whatever, all the other tutorials were on big serious overhual mods. great tutoriial
I don't have Mod Manager in my Launcher
Same here
i didnt know how to instal mods so this video was a huge help! thanks alot
Im watching it in 2024. 10 years after release 😢😂
mods wont work for mac on this game for everyone who is asking why the mod manager isnt appearing.
From the little minority, thanks for the instruction - clear and informative, cheers.
What if I own Rome II separate from Steam? Where does the workshop content go then (directory?)
+Matthew Cubbage it doesnt work that way then. You gotta buy it in steam or do some mod-managing and some grey-zone stuff. just google it up
I can't use the ModManager because I get an unhandled exception error, can someone tell me how to fix it or why it happens?
This guy trying to be the cool uncle.
You can not mod rome 2 or any other mods for total war as the mac version doesn't have a launcher.
is there a way to mod with mac then?
Not as far as I'm aware.
+mikezissou I think there is a way but it is very complex and I don't know how to. But I never will as I am on windows now and graphics are way better
No launcher shows up when I load the game up. Can you help me?
+James did you buy the game through steam?
All us digitalneanderthal thanks you for help

This is surprisingly easy
When i shut down and restart my pc the mods i have subscribed to, don't appear on mods manager and i have to subscribe to them again. How can i fix this?
I don't really have a solution for that but I usually reinstall the game whenever I have a problem I can't solve. Usually helps.
It might be a silly question but please answer me on it .
can i download steam mods even if i didn't have Rome 2 on steam ?

So I did everything as you said, and than it comes to the point of downloading where it just sits still and just stays at 0%. What can I do about it?
Jelle Stolk Try restarting Steam or deleting the mod and reinstalling it.
Berserkhead Total War I've tried multiple mods, some download in a flick and some take forever or don't even start at all. I actually tried what you said already, I'd figured out that it might work if I just put them in my subscriptions and hopefully they'll download in some days while playing the game.

Berserkhead Total War Yeah same thing here, hope they'll fix it eventually, because it is pretty annoying.
***** They never downloaded until TF2 started updating and all of a sudden it worked.
Great video, very helpful, thanks dude

Nvm, a mod manager just popped up, though it looks different from yours.

I dont have the mod launcher
Ok... you didn't explain how to install a mod at all. The Rome II mods are way more harder than that.
