  • For my fifth episode of “TEN YEARS LATER,” I’m gonna be taking a look at Justin Bieber’s debut album “My World 2.0.” Many of us know all about Justin Bieber, he’s a worldwide pop music superstar who has put out a bevy of gigantic singles and albums throughout the 2010s. Before he was that superstar, though, Justin was one of many child stars positioned to be the next middle/high school heartthrob (trust me, when I was in middle school, every girl wanted to marry him), and this was his very first album. As is unfortunately the case with many a child star, especially when their music is not-so-beloved, Justin was the target of a lot of Internet scorn at the time (and he still very much is), and the music video for “Baby,” the biggest song from this album, is still the second most disliked video on TH-cam (it was the first, until TH-cam Rewind 2018 decided to exist). But is this really as bad as much of the Internet makes it out to be? Honestly, to my everlasting surprise…no, it’s actually pretty good.

There is a remix of “Somebody To Love” and it has the exact same sounds as the original version but the only difference is that Usher (Justin Bieber’s mentor and an artist in his own right) is featured on that. You can find that remix on the “Now That’s What I Call Music! 35” CD which was released around the end of August 2010 as well as Justin’s 2nd remix album entitled “Never Say Never: The Remixes” released in February 2011

@@MattsRandomJourneysOh I forgot that there’s another remix of “Somebody To Love” that was on Usher’s record called “Versus” and Justin’s vocals are featured on it. However though, Usher’s version is completely different from the My World 2.0 version

I remember this from when I listened to that EP for this series, since the Versus EP was included in the Deluxe Edition of Raymond vs. Raymond.

@@MattsRandomJourneysI also forgot that there’s another remix of “Somebody To Love” called the J-Stax Remix and it’s featured on Justin Bieber’s 1st compilation album “My Worlds: The Collection” released about a week before his 1st remix album “My Worlds Acoustic”

There was a song that was a bonus track on this album on like a deluxe version of this record. The song is called “Where Are You Now?” which is like a part 2 of the story of the divorce of Justin’s parents

Oh really? Huh. And it has nothing to do with the other song he released that was called "Where Are ü Now?" That's interesting.
