N2Darkness's Lord of the Rings display room and custom props

- Here is a (quick) walk through my display/theater room of all of my LOTR statues and props. Many items including Shards of Narsil, Sauron finger, Eowyn shield, Witchking crown, Boromir shield, Sam's Shire salt box, 1:1 Ringwraith, Aeglos - Gil galad's spear and many more were all made by me. Most statues are from Sideshow/Weta. Swords and staves are UC and Weta.

+allosaur176 Molding and casting was problematic and may have to redo the mold to produce better castings. Run is currently on hold and this is the only completed one :(

This collection is obviously on another level but that coffee table alone is one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

This is an impossible collection. It is one thing to be a fan or display a collection. But this is next level.
This is a high-level, high-cost, time-consuming collection that for sure took years and dollars of preparation, probably even required high income and a degree of expertise in architectural/design knowledge or lots of commission works.
This is the closest to having a museum or a movie set in your home.
This is really difficult to achieve. My hats off to you sir.
Do you happen to be related to any of the companies that produced the movies? Otherwise I find very difficult to rationalize how you managed to build this incredible room.
Thank you for the kind comments. All work on the room was done by myself with help from my wife. I designed the room as a theater first, all the wiring for speakers and lights. Storage for the equipment and then displays for statues and props. It was a done on a fairly cheap budget (I'm not rich, just creative!) over many months of hard work. The collection took many years to collect as I bought them when they first came out and not on the 2ndary market and built many props myself. I did all of my own research on-line without help from anyone else (did not know anyone from the movies) p.s. I am a carpenter in my spare time.
Now that's a home with Middle Earth atmosphere... amazing !

Thanks! I've seen your videos before. I don't collect toy figures anymore as I used to collect Spawn and Star Wars but moved to polystone and 1:1 props. Expensive hobby to say the least.

Yes it is a United Cutlery product and so is the scabbard. You may find some on ebay, but UC may be reissuing some more this year so keep an eye out!

Looking at all the Weta and United Cutlery I cannot even begin to imagine how much this whole room must have costed. Out of curiosity, do you collect only swords and statues primarily? What about the Tolkien books / games / other stuff.
I do have many books, I have a nice Easton Press editions of LOTR and the Hobbit, all the Art of movie books and I also collect / make props from the movie. You can find all of the things I have made through out the room, but I do not collect any of the novelty items such as games, funko, toys, etc.

What a fantastic collection! I'm curious if an avid collector like yourself would know if there is anywhere to still buy Isildur's sword. It's number one on my list, but only private collectors seem to still have it. Fantastic collection again, but if you know any trade secrets, please send then my way. Cheers!
james washburn Thank You! As for Isildur's sword I have no leads. It is a very hard piece to find and won't be cheap once you find it.

It is actually one of the Sword of the Ancients by Kit Rae, they look very similar and if anything they took some inspiration from his design.

Thank you! I didn't make the palantir, just the stand for it. I purchased an obsidian sphere off Ebay that seemed like a good fit.
What did you make or carve the stand out of? it looks sooo good! I really want to make one myself for my collection
@@PaulMaterne The stand was made primarily out of MDF, the slanted areas were filled with expanding foam, carved and then covered with bondo body filler. Top design was carved with a router.

THAT sword!!! (in the display case..to the right of Gandalf the White's staff)...the 3rd sword in the collection...i used to always see this sword in my local mall back when they had cool things..although i know it isnt LOTR related, i always thought that sword was just simply amazing! ( i think the 'wings' even folded down if i remember correctly) Your entire collection is the stuff of dreams!!! (especially the coffee table, WOW!) but to see this sword, means alot for some strange reason. since it is now 2021 (5 yrs after you posted this video) i truly hope your collection has grown considerably!......and NOT undone by time nor circumstance... wonderful collection!
Thanks! The Kit Rae sword of the Ancients is a very cool line and one that got me collecting swords before the LOTR movies came out. The sword of Anathros is a very unique with the hilt that has movable arms. I have since moved and made a new collection room, there is an updated video on my channel.
Has Stephen Colbert seen this collection ???... I would bet that he would bring you on his show as a guest for an opportunity to tour your LOTR Collection... Supposedly, Stephen Colbert is the biggest LOTR (J.R.R. Tolkien) Fan in the World...
I don't know if he has. It would be really cool if he has. I wanted to send him one of the Shire salt boxes I make, but have no way of getting a hold of him.
What wealth you have collected, both exhaustive and obscure. I recognized so much and still there was so much I didn't recognized. I think you must work at the replica place. I sometimes make machettes and want to make them as LOTR and HOBBIT swords, only still used as machettes. THin and fast. I may even get some low melting metal to do casting with.
I've been collecting for over 20 years and after awhile you start to look for things that aren't available and try and make your own. LOTR is a very rich and detailed world brought to the screen by the amazing artists of Weta. Even the props only seen for a few seconds are absolutely amazing.

Great collection! may I ask where did you get the Arwen tomb? It looks amazing. I thought it was from Weta but they seems like dont sell it. I'm planning to get an Anduril sword. Any suggestion about it? Seems like the UC dont sell the sword in online anymore. Do you think buying an Anduril from TheKnightShop would be OK? I don't want to buy the Anduril sword which has a low quality. What do you think about it? Thank you.
Aragorn's (or Elessar's) tomb is a custom piece I got on the Flame of Udun forum by the great artist Kyle. They were very limited, but it is possible that he may do another run someday. As for Anduril, check BudK.com as they sell it and all the other UC LOTR line of replicas. I have herd that next year they are going to be making a Museum Collection Anduril with a carbon steel blade like they did with Sting and Glamdring if you want to wait, but will be considerably more money.
@@n2darkness Thank you for sharing! I'm gonna hold until next UC's carbon Anduril release. Just found that darkswordarmory has a carbon blade Anduril too. But I guess UC seems more collectable.

Where did you get the elven rope?
I made it from some reflective paracord and dyed it a blue-grey color to better match the film prop.
