The historic region in western Ukraine, lying in the north of the Carpathians, bounded by the river Zbruch in the east. Olesk, Pidhirtsi, and Svirzh castles, are the most popular tourist spots here, together with the well-known rock fortress Tustan. The old part of Lviv, the cultural center of Ukrainian Halychyna, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Today, Halychyna can be fairly named as a home to numerous modern creative and business centers, created on the basis of old industrial zones.
